Ok, i must confess sometimes im too curious, so since i spoked with a scotish friend i being curious about something, i asked her about faries and magical stuff and if they exist or are just myths (i know i should had asked better questions sweatdrop ) and the witchcraft theme came out.

She told me there were mysterious stories about wicthes, and that they exist and that (i couldnt believe her since in my country that stuff is just a nosesense for a lot of people u_u).

Now i found by accident the name of Nicholas Flamel ( not from Harry Potter story) and then i were searching more links and i found the word Wicca, i was reading it, but the true i still dont get it really well, because where i live that is considered the name of good witches, but my friend said that kind of witcches doesnt exist...so i am really confused. sweatdrop

Im trying to find out information about them (but is part of european folklore so i dont know too much).

The question :what is a wicca? is a good witch? a myth? folklore? they exist? dangerous people? i really want top know but the web is confusing (too much contradictory information) and what about they believe ? isnt that a satanic thing? or is just an old religion based in nature?

True an sincere answers will be really apreciated. sweatdrop
At it's most traditional, Wicca is secretive, oathbound Neo-Pagan religion based on an amalgamation of old beliefs, though it was created in the 1950s. It's not Satanic, and they [Wiccans] aren't any more dangerous than any other person.

Do you know what they believe in? Because I JUST heard of them today, I'm all too curious.

Wicca is a religion based on mostly Celtic festivals and mythology. It was created in the 50's, and some Wiccans call themselves witches. It's not Satanic or evil. The most inmportant rule of it is "An it harm none, do as ye will." So as long as your action will harm no one, including yourself, it's ok.

Here's a good website for non-biased information. It ought to help with some basic questions.
Religious Tolerance's page on Wicca and Neopaganism

And of course, the wikipedia page.

I hope this information will be useful to you.

not really, i just heard something about nature and that they have a god and a godess, anyone knows more?
ummmm sweatdrop

wicca has nothing to do with satanism

wicca is a way of life

wicca is not evil. those who are wiccan follow the law of three and that is what ever you do comes back at your three fold as well as well as "do what you will as long as it harms none"

wicca is a real religion and they do exist. and those who take up the title of witch through wicca cannot do you any harm. however some one who does you harm and claims they are a wiccan are not a wiccan they are actually satanists and not all satanists are mean people

they are not folklore
Traditional Wicca is more fertility oriented than nature oriented [though people will split hairs about the definitions forever].

However, there's a more popular rising of a movement calling itself 'Neo-Wicca' now, which is more fully nature oriented. It's more of an eclectic sort of thing, also Neo-Pagan in nature, in which the practitioners (who may or may not call themselves witches, but who usually do) take different aspects from older, pre-Christian cultures that they feel drawn to and use them in their worship.

I feel like I'm being very vague here. sweatdrop It's a lot to talk about, and I'm only in the very beginning stages of my learning, unfortunately.

of course I do xd

Wicca is an Earth religion -- an accepting, open-minded faith that celebrates diversity and considers us all to be children of the same mother. Gender, age, race, sexual orientation, physical status, family background or ethnic heritage are not important in Wicca. We are male and female, old and young, gay and straight, healthy and disabled, and of all colors
