I am so fertile. :/

Apocalyptic Fatcat

My husband and I are going to start trying soon. I'm on my last week of active birth control pills, and after that, I'm quitting completely.

I'm hoping since I have more of a regulated cycle due to the pill, that conceiving won't be too much of an issue. But I'm not raising my hopes too high, as I know with suffering with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), it won't be easy.

I've began taking prenatal vitamins, and have started exercising more and editing my food choices as I know loosing weight will also help my chances with fertility.
Not TTC, but I just wanted to say good luck! My boss and his wife were having trouble conceiving and with the help of a fertility doctor, they finally had twins last month. So I encourage you to see one; don't be afraid.
Good luck TTC! Another girl from the Pregnancy Support thread tried making a thread like this a few days ago and it didn't turn out so well. This one seems to be off to a better start. I know it can be very difficult to hang around pregnant ladies, especially when they are unwanted or unplanned pregnancies while you're trying so hard. It feels unfair. I think a separate TTC thread is a fantastic idea and I'd love to see this become a successful thread. But, if for any reason you decide to shut this thread down, feel free to come join us in the Pregnancy Support thread. Some of us are pregnant, some of us are TTC, and there's plenty of love and support to go around.

If you'd like, I can send you a PM to another website that has a forum dedicated to women TTC. A lot of the women there have PCOS and I'm sure someone might be able to direct you to an affordable specialist in your area.
Why is it a big deal? If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. It shouldn't matter if you have kids in your life or not. If you want em, fine, but there's no reason to get upset just because you're not pregnant. Relax and just enjoy your life

I did read that, actually, but as I said; my thread is FOCUSED on TTC, the PARENTS thread is focused on PARENTS.

You are done harassing me now.

Good luck to you! smile
I wont be trying to have kids for many, many years. But i found out last week i might have endometriosis, and may be infertile. I have to go in next week for an ultrasound. Im not sure what comes after that, but im pretty freaked out about it.
I wish you the best of luck when you do decide you're ready for a family, I'm sorry about your news, and I hope that it won't interfere with future family planning for you.

My period has always been irregular and I've been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend of 3.5 years for the past year but I fear I may have PCOS.
My doctor appointment is next week so I'll have my test results then but I'm worried that I may be infertile. My boyfriend and I are 22 and we've talked about having kids in our 20s but if I am infertile, it will devastate me. :/

I wish you good luck. ^_^

Thank you to everyone for showing there support; I realize that there is a PREGNANCY Support thread, but please keep in mind that trying to become pregnant and being pregnant are two COMPLETELY different things.

I appreciate the welcome from those who are visiting that are regulars from the thread, I have linked the thread as a reference in the first post.

I am trying to reply to all posts but I am going to ignore negative ones from now on.

Thank you for your post, I haven't done a lot of research on causes of infertility (as I really don't want to learn that I am so I try avoiding the subject hah...) I just started taking prenatal vitamins today as well. Keep us updated on your progress! And of course please come in any time to chat!

Yes!! Absolutely!! I would really love to have more out going links and resources for anything TTC, especially dealing with possible infertility and conditions such as PCOS.

And thank you for your welcoming arms- it seems quite a few users disagree about having this separate from the Pregnancy Support thread. I'll just ignore all the negativity and promote positive posts like this. Thank you again and good luck with your pregnancy!! May I add you to the list?

I wish you the best of luck!
And I totally understand the need for this thread outside of the pregnancy support....
I have a son and desperately want another, but know it's a bad time for another child right now so we aren't trying
But reading everyone talking about their pregnancies make my desires for another kid 100x worse

*plenty of sticky baby dust sent your way*
Thank you very much for the baby dust!! May I add you to the parents list? biggrin

A major part of my anxiety about getting pregnant comes from the fact that the prime fertility age is 20-24, and I am closing in on 24.

I've never heard about a prime fertility age before. If it helps, I'm pregnant with my first and I'm 29. I don't think there's anything magical about the age 24. I have heard something about complications being more likely if you have your first after 30. I thought it had more to do with being sexually active before 30 than actually conceiving before then, but I don't remember my source so I'm not sure on it. I also have a sister in law that had her first last year after trying for 2-3 years (conceived at 28 yrs old). So be patient and don't get anxious about turning 24. You still have plenty of time. 3nodding

One piece of advice another sister in law (who is a nurse) gave a friend who was trying was to stop trying so hard. The idea is that the stress and anxiety of wanting and hoping taxes the body of energy. All of these emotional roller coasters are draining and your body doesn't dare get pregnant because your energy is too taxed to be able to put energy into growing another human being. The friend took the advice and went back on birth control. sweatdrop Kinda missed the point there. But I have noticed that a lot of people I know who have tried for years finally got pregnant after giving up on the idea and moving on with their lives. Easier said than done, I know. But perhaps finding a career goal or humanitarian effort to focus your energy and get your mind off it instead might help? (Providing that isn't too draining on you either).

Given your irregular periods I would also recommend you see a fertility doctor. Knowledge is power. If you do have something wrong early intervention may help immensely. And if nothing is wrong, it could help decrease your anxiety levels which can help you conceive biggrin I just think there's more pro's than con's for you. Best of luck to you no matter what you decide! And don't let people try to tell you to not want to conceive (I hope it doesn't sound like that's what I'm trying to do, it's not!). There isn't a more beautiful goal for you to have. I wish you all the luck in reaching it!
