Hey,

I see a lot about lgb people on gaia, but I haven't run into many trans people. Are there any out there? For the youth, 13-24, Outlet is a great resource if you have any questions, or are just looking for someone to talk to. Check us out!!

Also, any youth having a hard time with their gender identity in general - feel like you are in the wrong body? I have heard many youth talk about that. It's important to Outlet staff that you don't feel alone, because you aren't alone! So please don't hesitate to ask for some support. We are online often!

Isn't this against ToS? You're advertising.
And people just don't magically understand their gender identity, so don't go running about asking for people who are transgender to respond.
But people who actually understand their gender identity and are transgender, may not. Why should they when they are being targeted by some completely random person.
Anyways... There are plenty of transgender people on here, I myself am one and proud of it ^^

Ah, I'm sorry. I definitely didn't mean to upset anyone. I'm still new on this site, so I'm not aware of specific rules. If you take a look at my profile you will see that Outlet is a legit organization set up to provide support for lgbtqq youth. We have youth who are part of Outlet who love this site and thought it would be a great way to outreach to other youth. That's why we set up a profile. I am in no way asking folks to just talk to some random person. Although, I find that comment ironic because that is what almost EVERYONE is doing on the forums. I am seeing some really scary, uninformed feedback given to lots of young people and it worries me.

Again, I'm sorry you got the wrong idea from my post.

I know you're trying to support people but advertising on Gaia is probably not the best place to do it.

I give uninformed feedback because it amuses me.

Huh. Well, we aren't outreaching to get youth to come to meetings in CA. We know youth are online more often now, so that is the kind of outreach we are doing. We want to make our staff available for youth to ask questions or find resources near them, if they haven't found them already.

Just out of curiosity, why is that? Really, I am completely new to this site and was led here by some youth who are on it. So I figured it would be a good place to reach out.

Who knows? This would be a good place in actuality since it is rather diverse. And sorry I took your message a bit wrong. Rather annoyed from something else, so I took it out on your post, and it seemed a bit of the ordinary. Trust issues.
So do you have a guild set up on Gaia?

It won't threaten to stab me heart
A good thing would be to start a discussion here, maybe make a guild or look into the TG guilds already floating around. :3

Yeah, there's quite a few guilds floating around. All good places to look. =]

Don't know if you're looking for FtM, MtF, or both, but you'll find plenty if you look.

Hey. Don't worry about it at all. I understand. And when I read over my first post, it did seem kind of sketchy sounding! I facilitate our youth group every Monday night, so I get used to just throwing ideas out there easily. But doing things online is a bit different. I need to think of my wording first.

I don't have a guild yet. I still need to find out more about that. I don't want to break any rules of Gaia though, so I want to read through more of that stuff. If you can lead me in the right direction for that, I would really appreciate it. There is so much on here, and my mind is overflowing with ideas on how to reach out to youth. But I don't want to mess with the etiquette! smile

Thanks for understanding. 4laugh

I will definitely take a look at the guilds. Thank you for the direction.
