Satanism is a legitimate religion (recognized by the US Navy as well). It's focus is towards independance.
Okay, you're thinking of that one random guy that got accepted into the Navy.
Second... Seriously? Satanism? I know there are people that are really negative and depressing but SATANISM?
That is as low as you can get.
It's negative and it's depressing.
Quote:
In December 2007 the Associated Press reported on a story concerning the Church of Satan, in which a teenager had sent an e-mail to the administration stating he wanted to "kill in the name of our unholy lord Satan." Further re-affirming their pro law standpoint, the Church reported the message to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which then informed local police who arrested the teenager.[
Your point....?
If you're thinking of satanic cults, those are the depressing ones.
Think what you want to think that seems right.

I just question whom said it was perfect. I never said it was.
And I just said nor is religion.
Further more, I'm agnostic, so before you go on further I suggest you look up the word if you have no idea what that is.
I know what it is, and I'm guessing that you also have a touch of postmodernism in your personal worldview.
And depending on what you mean by religion, I disagree that it is flawed.
Actually I personally don't have a liking for the idea of religion at all. I simply believe people should just live earnestly, love, and laugh with their day to day experiences without worry of whom created or whom is watching.
And on religion as a whole, it is neither flawed nor perfect, but it is certainly something useful to give people hope or direction to those lost in life.
Yikes, how can you live like that? I'm always curious, always wondering why, always thinking beyond the mundane.
Frankly the idea that people ought to "eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die" is a little disturbing to me. After all, what difference would it make if we lived six years or sixty? What difference would any action make?
What about after death?
So religion gives hope and direction? Well, speaking from personal experience, add miracles and supernatural experiences to that list.
Actually, there is a little thing I like to believe in myself that sets aside all of those worries, and that is reincarnation. Though it is only something in my hopes and dreams. That one wish alone and living my life to the best I can is all I would ever need.
As for miracles and the supernatural, I know religion can cover that quite well however there is a science that speaks there are random instances in the universe that occurs without explanation. I'd rather not get further into it than that as it's only another man's theory about how things work in another dimension.
Reincarnation always bugged because I'd wonder if there are new souls being created all the time. Otherwise, there must be plenty of people walking around with no soul because of a scarcity.
What do you mean by the "best you can"? How do you determine what is good, bad, or best?
Random stuff? Errrr. . . I doubt even chaos theory or such could explain any of it.

I like to think of it as a cycle being used for those "souls". I would hope that at a later life my very same soul would be used and I'd have no memory of my past life. Ofcourse this is all imaginative.
The best I can through modern life's hardships of needing materials like money and being unaccepted by some due to looks or opinions.
And the random thing came from some man's theory that was space related, I cannot fully explain it myself, so it is as I said that it's best left at that.

Needing money and feeling unaccepted? Oh right. I forgot that most people worry about that.
Yeah, as I said, there are many things unrelated to the physical realm. Some things simply can't be explained, both good and bad.

1) There are alot of aliens/people/animals/bacteria/plants dying out there in the world or vastness of outer space or
2) There's alot of reserve stock in souls in the afterlife or
3) Souls bud when reaching maturity or
4) The world population is subject to a god's dream which can grow or shrink as seen fit or
5) You are reborn into a different world/reality or
6) You don't really die, just reset and the world around you resets or
7) Time travel or
8 ) Et cetera.

Is a quote I once said. Ofcourse there's nothing wrong with either way.
To each their own.
I once did worry about being accepted and never worry about it anymore. lol Though religion is a security to cover that and much more, so I don't suppose you ever have to worry about it. However, you cannot say that money isn't something you need not worry about. Once you reach my age, you have to worry about it in order to survive in the city.
