New clothes can have bad things in them too. Ideally, you should wash everything you get, new and used -- because you never know, really. In fact, new clothes are often harsher on baby's sensitive skin because of packaging, shipping... stuff like that. You don't know what can get on the clothes. But, like I said, washing them before the first use makes that all better.

EDIT: Especially at Wal-mart. I worked there... and some of the stuff that gets into the crates the things are shipped in... ick. We're talkin' spilt chemicals and stuff like that, and even mouse droppings and s**t. Of course if anything is damaged it goes into claims, but still..

Wow so many pages. It just jumped up like woah.

Petit-congrats on getting engaged. (even thought it was way back there)

I never got a proposal. My engagement ring is super awesome cause it looks VERY real, but isn't. My wedding rings were handcrafted silver wire braid. The same wire braid was used to make both my hubbys and my ring. I only ever wear my rings when I feel like it. Normally they aren't on. Can't stand the water that gets under the ring when you wash your hands.

Estrogenbomb- My son has been in speech therapy since he was almost 2. He never spoke a whole lot. Between the state and the city he's managed to come a long way from a few words to 5+ word sentences. He is now 4.

Thanks, Pricey!

Woo! I'm watching Say Yes to the Dress, and for the first time ever, I'm not sad because I'll never get married! Man this feels good.

yeah... as a teen i always thought marriage was a drag and never wanted to try it, but it is just the thing for those couples that are destined to be together : Swoons over her fiancé :

I like shopping at Target for baby clothes. And used baby clothes for newborns are usually in REALLY good shape because they barely get worn before they are outgrown. Newborns don't usually get very dirty either.

Lot going on today. My friend Amanda came over today to sew. It was a lot of fun. She's a fellow weird-mom, so we always have a great time together. Her daughter Ella is 1 month younger than Dani and they just started noticing each other. They spent a long time screaming happily at each other.

Then when Aaron got home he had a Mother's Day card for me from Dani, Oreos, and a Slurpee. mrgreen Inside the card was a picture of the amber necklace he's getting me that matches the one Dani wears. He already ordered it, but it hasn't come yet. It's exactly what I wanted! heart

Then I went to the fabric store and got fabric for the skirt I'm making in my class tomorrow. I also got some fabric to make some stuff for the baby. They're soooo cute. One has little foxes, racoons, bunnies, and skunks on it. The other has birds and trees.

congrats on the engagement petit! i'm so happy for you! biggrin

and my ring isn't the best either and didn't fit at the time (does now because my fingers are swollen haha) i bet he'll understand or come around to getting you a proper one. my bf was going to get me a better one with his tax money when he got robbed. ugh. go figure.

so are you going to have aden in your wedding? that would be soo cute heart

thanks a lot for the warnings. raises the question, though: where CAN we get the cleanest clothes? >.<

Questing for Toxic Rainbow Kisses

i'd say target and toys r us. nothing i've purchased from there has ever been tarnished in any way. Friends of mine are super paranoid about chemicals in clothing, so they wash them something like 10 times before their baby wears the clothes they purchased. I just put the clothes on the kids, say 'awww cute', and life goes on xd

i had a nap earlier, and i had the electric blanket on, so Neko came and slept with me (for some reason, he follows me everywhere and always falls asleep on me), and he curled into me around the back of my neck. i fell asleep, and when i woke up i couldnt find him. i lifted up the blanket and there he was, just laying there super still. i said,"neko?" and he didnt move. i picked up his arms and legs and he didnt move, he just flopped back down. I started to get worried, so i gave him a big shove across the bed, and he opens his eyes and looks at me like,"whaddaya want? i was having SUCH a good sleep..." hahaha. i was getting freaked out razz

Absolutely all baby clothes, blankets, sheets, etc. need to be washed before you use them because new fabric is has a finish on it to make it look nicer that is full of all sorts of nasty stuff...like formaldehyde for one. So I really wouldn't worry about where has the cleanest clothes...they all need to be washed no matter what. Even fabric needs to be washed before you make anything out of it. You also have to think about germy people in the stores looking at the clothes and touching them. Just wash 'em, it'll be fine.

Aww cute Penni!

Our puppies do that. They'll conk out and then you can pick them up and their little legs flop everywhere. And it's so funny sometimes when they're running around jumping and playing and then all of a sudden you look at them and they're snoring away. lol

I'm not short! I'm just height challenged! <3

You're only a smartass if you have a dictionary taped to your a**!

To anyone who may read this,

Well, I am not a mother, and certainly not a SuperMom.

My name is Grace and I'm 14 years old, and although I know little about parenting, I love kids, we get along, and I love children as if they were my own(I babysit and such).

I also know how hard it is to take care of a child. My mother has told me many times that I'll never know till I have one, but in many ways I think I understand, even just a little, how beatiful a life is. That feeling of warmth when you hold them and see their content smile. The way, even when happy, you want to hold them as if they were sad.

Well, I also know how important parents are, dads included, in a child's life- even if I don't get along with mine at all times. I especially know about how other kids treat their parents. They call them to check in but its more like a yell-fest and no manners. They don't even ask to go places, just disappear. It frustrates me so much to see this, and I can't help[ but to feel bad for their parents, or even every time I've yelled at my mom.

The point of this is to post my own message to all parents. We, your children, need you. We may have problems that we hide from you, and I'm quite aware we make you worry. But you should remember you make us worry, too, and you're not always a friendly person to talk to. So if your kid is ever disrespectful, try to think of it from their view, kids who read this to their parents too.

Many years from now, I do plan to become a mother, if it'll be my own kid, or adopted, I'll love them with my all. Most likely not soon, because I've still got so much to learn (and expirience) before I become so committed.(Particularly since I want my kid to know I care and I'm there to help.)

So now I close and I hope anyone who reads this understands where I'm coming from.
And to my mother, who will never read this, not sure to be relieved or sad, I love you. I truly do and I hope you enjoy your mother's day, even i you work tomorrow.

Also, u'll have a daughter waiting for you whose ready with lotion to give you a relaxing mesage.
My name is Grace and I'm 14 years old, and I hope you understand my view. A compassionate teen does live, not all of us ignore you guys. xp

Grace.

P.S. My mother always says,
"We May Not Have It All Together, But Together We Have It All..."
I'm proud of you, Mom. mrgreen

My friend is the most amazing mother in the world! She might only be 16 but she has a beautiful daughter called Coral, shes almost 2 now and is going to give birth to her son very soon. Definetly class her as a supermum because she looks after her kids as well as going to school and doing very well there! Their Dads a very good parent too!

Oh wow! That's so great of her. smile What will she name her baby boy?
