Tobacco isn't bad for you. Smoking it is.
Smoking--whether it be tobacco, marijuana, or whatever else---is bad for you. The act of inhaling smoke into your lungs is what is bad for you.
Tell that to the people with cancer of the mouth and oesophagus to pancreas and breast, etc (pretty much the whole body) from snuff and chewing tobacco use, or to their families in the case of those that died. There's also rising evidence to suggest a causative link to heart disease and strokes too with smokeless tobacco use. There's pretty much no better evidence base in all of modern medicine than there is in the disease associated with smoking and tobacco use, that's why smoking cessation (including stopping alternative tobacco use as well) is such a big deal - it directly translates into an increase in lifespan and quality of life - especially if someone commits to it early enough.

If you made a tea out of tobacco, it would be fine.
If you just chewed the leaves, it would be fine.
That's all processed chemical-ridden s**t.

Also, to the original post: yes, smoking is bad for you. But then sugar consumption causes diabetes, obesity, IBS, liver disease, epilepsy, intellectual delays, failure to thrive, certain mental illness, metabolic disease, etc. . .

So saying drinking Coke is good for you because low blood sugar is bad for you is like saying Smoking is good for you, because the nicotine's imitation of acetylcholine has medicinal effects and is beneficial to people with muscle twitching and anxiety.

Actually as I said above, chewing tobacco is causatively linked to mouth, oesophageal, gastric and pancreatic cancer especially, as well as many other cancers. Just because you think it isn't, doesn't mean that a huge body of scientific evidence is irrelevant. Limiting tobacco use is a huge part of healthcare worldwide, the evidence that it is harmful is so strong that it shapes national and international policy and also trickles down to everyone being asked every day by doctors and nurses everywhere if they smoke or use tobacco in other ways and if they'd like help stopping. Sugar in reasonable amounts is perfectly fine, in fact it is part of a normal healthy diet, the same cannot be said with any amount of tobacco use. It's absurd that you're even arguing about this, normally if we were discussing something else less obvious I'd now comment on how you're talking about something you know little about but in this case it's pretty clear and everyone from young children to the elderly know the dangers of tobacco use, primarily smoking but only because it's simply the most common modality. Do you also happen to oppose vaccination? Because that would be the cherry on top of a very nutty cake haha

chewing tobacco is not just tobacco leaves. there is other stuff added to it.
Nicotine has medicinally properties.
And why would you think I'd be against vaccination?

The people against vaccination are usually against tobacco industries as well, and GMO products, and eating meat.
