I think you missed my point.
Or perhaps you missed mine.
You miss out on a visit with Aden. For me, that's an instant no unless a swap can be made
You don't want to go, then don't go. Simple. You could try and work ways to make it interesting. Mexico has alot of history and culture. Maybe just look into things you like unless Tyler has a rigid schedule? I frequently travel to places I don't like to go but I still try and make the most of it anyway!
IMO, bring up as many points as you want, but as soon as you mention losing out on time with your son, and I was in your position, I start going "no no no". Mainly because I'm not in a position to swap my time with my kids due to a frequent busy schedule. Yours may be different
If nothing can be worked out, no holiday is worth losing time with kids when they are so young. When they are teens, maybe. When they are little, no way.
You ask for an opinion and you got it. I'm not stating that you SHOULD do that, only what I would do in your situation.
