Learning about sex in school is important. :I Best to teach people about safe sex, without learning about it kids gonna have sex anyways, kids have their ways of finding out about stuff.

Wtf?
Learning about it isn't going to make it happen. It's a natural process in life.
Learning about it will just help people practice it safely
Are you trying to hijack planes and ram them into buildings filled with thousands of American citizens?
Are you currently running a campaign to become the president of the United States?
Are you attempting to be a cow?

Honestly, your logic... well, actually, this isn't logical. You have no logic. You just have a pile of s**t that you, for some reason, felt compelled to smear all over a poor innocent forum.

Sex happens whether you talk about it or not. The only difference talking about it makes is the context in which that sex happens - is it protected? Consensual? Strongly desired and enjoyable for both parties? If talking about it - in the right way - can help bring about positive results like that (and it can) there's no reason NOT to.

We should learn about protection
klebold
When it's possible to not do something, and have there be no consequence
Sexual frustration
Stress
Pains (in the case of women who have sex to alleviate period cramps)

Just a few of the consequences of not having sex as an average human with an average sex drive.

yes it is good to learn about sex before we do it,because you know all the dos and don't ,it is good to know how to have safe sex
Gory details about sex will certainly HELP keep unwanted/welfare babies from flooding our already-impoverished society. neutral
Yes, you do need to learn about it. Because if abstinence only non comprehensive sex education has taught us anything, it's that you kids are too ******** stupid to be trusted with natural healthy activities that will eventually be a normal part of your lives.
Apparently no one comes to their own no-duh conclusions that chlorinated pool water is corrosive to condoms ( a popular one in my neck of the woods), or that sperm meets eggs and makes babies.
40% of teens parents say they didn't use protection because they just figured it wouldn't happen to them. 1 in 4 teens has had or currently has an STD, which is even more fun because Gonorrhea has become so strong it might be incurable in a few years. AS of right now it's highly resistant to our antibiotics.

Knowledge takes away the forbidden fruit aspect of adult things. Teaching kids how to be safe will not put the idea in their heads to have sex. Nothing has ever been proven to lower teen sexual activity.
If you don't educate people they will most likely end up having 7 kids and naming them after Disney characters...

Not true; schools no longer teach safe sex whatsoever, but teach abstinence. It's amazing what the religious can get away with.

Schools in my area still do.
That's pretty rare! I'm in Minnesota, well above the Bible belt, but it was pushed, along with subversive mental training of sex being a scarring and irrational thing to do, even going as far as saying that it's something we feed into because we're spiritually dead. I should have walked out of the class and sued the school for it.

I know this has been quoted/posted about a number of times, but really? neutral To say it's "rare" is kind of ridiculous. You're making assumptions about the whole United States based on one place/area.

I live in New York, which ranks highest in number of people living with HIV/AIDS in the country. My county, which borders New York City, is very high up on the HIV/AIDS infection rate by county. In places like these, sex education is vital and absolutely necessary and pretty much common place. In my county, my high school was one of the first to start handing out condoms to kids. Because they seriously need to learn to protect themselves. Abstinence-only education has been proven not to work, but even places with minimal sex education programs are not enough.

(This part is not directed at you, Asmusei, but at the OP.) Sex education can save lives and teach people how to have better relationships and sex. People are going to have sex. We can't stop them from doing it, and frankly, sex education never made me want to have sex more than any other kid. But when the time came that I did have sex, it made me know how to protect myself, how to talk to my partner, and how to feel comfortable.

I think sex education can be infinitely better in this country - we need to teach kids not just about hetero sex but also other kinds of sex. We can teach kids that sex isn't just about making babies but about having fun and enjoying your body. We can teach people not to be ashamed or embarrassed when they buy condoms or tampons or birth control. We can teach kids about active consent and where the ******** clitoris is. All of that can happen through sex education.
I learned about it plenty and though I have only had one partner, I still have. Education just hopefully prevents pregnancy and the spread of STD's. That to me is the most important thing.

Well, thank you for being nice in your rebuttal, most people simply revert to flaming when someone says against what they have to say.

I definitely agree with the last paragraph and had heard about only people trying to get the religious viewpoint of sex pressed upon students and never really heard of any actually teaching about contraceptives, thus it seemed to be a rare thing to me. So I suppose I could be in the wrong.
