"...period finally started. Doesn't make me really happy because now I have to put up with it....

Got my dog yesterday and she is pretty much perfect, except she has an absurd fear of going DOWN the stairs in our building's hall (the only exit to the building). We're going to start trying to associate our staircase with something positive like treats or toys. It's annoying because we have been forced to carry her down them, but she is fine going up them. I saw Cesar Milan had an episode of dogs with fears of stairs but I can't find it on the web to watch....post a picture when she sits still long enough...."

There wasn't any information about sex toys for men, and also I've heard there are multiple ways in wich masturbation can be executed for both genders, I think it would be better if you went into more detail, because if performed incorrectly it could damage or harm the body.

"Well, we had an actual guide on how to masturbate, but I was asked to remove it due to its content being age-innapropriate. I don't really think that the sex-toy guide we have is for men or women specifically, we had to cut out anything that mentioned specific toys or shapes as it was also age-innapropriate. We just have a guide for replacing batts, replacing toys, toy cleaning and maintenance...."

This is a nice thread. I'm glad it's here because sooo much of this information is unknown to the general public.

That said, I just want to add on a few things that I learned in my Microbiology class that I recently took.

First off is that the medical field is starting to shy away from the name STD and are adopting the name STI, or sexually transmitted illnesses. That is because, technically, many of the STIs are not considered "diseases". So if you hear STI, it's the same thing as the old STD.

Another thing is that the topic should probably say HIV instead of AIDS. AIDS is the later stage of HIV. For some people with HIV, it doesn't progress enough to be considered AIDS, although they do have symptoms of the disease.

Along the same lines, it might be noted some of the myths about AIDS. One is that you can get it just by touching. There has to be an exchange of body fluids. And while infected needles can cause HIV contraction, it's not nearly as likely as believed because the virus does not live for long periods of time outside the body. Also, a**l sex is not the only way to contract the virus. The reason it is so likely is because the tissue is easily torn, which would allow the virus quick access to the blood stream. But many times HIV is contracted through vaginal sex.

One thing to point out is the fact that women are much more likely to get the HIV than men. I do not know the exact numbers for this though, but there is a difference (which makes since when you consider the fact of bodily fluid exchange).

Another thing to point out is that genital herpes can have an incubation period of up to a week.

Finally, a note that should be stated about condoms. Condoms do not fully prevent some STIs. One example is genital herpes.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope this helps some and keep up the good work. ^_^ *thumbs up*

The UTI I had doesn't seem to have gone away, so I'm on a second course of antibiotics that render my pill useless, and I've got to make a trip to the hospital to hand in a urine sample. x.x

Hope you feel better now Magic!

No problem. I could give you the title of the books, but I know that a lot of people on these forums don't like books as references. Sorry I don't have links to it.
