When my best friend first started her period she bled so heavily and cramped so bad that she had to have time off school. The pain was sometimes so bad that she blacked out. She was put on the pill (one of the 11-year-olds on the pill that the Daily Mail likes to tell people with no critical thinking skills is having sex) and got much better. I don't think she even takes the pill anymore.

She does still have to take iron supplements though.
I was without it for about a month (mess up at the Dr.'s office) and I wouldn't stop bleeding, til they finally got the dang things to me stressed ...it does seem that that bit of time reset something; It's a lil less intense than it was ( a LOT less than it was a few years back) but still nothing to brag about... I never blacked out but I did wind up at home from school a few times a month.

I still roll my eyes at certain commercials when they talk about their severity...I know ppl have different tolerance levels, but when they're trying to say that a couple OTC pills will make your day all sunshine and peaches, than it wasn't that bad to begin with. (though midol used to be a huge thing in middle school for others) XD

@ Magic: hope it works for you.
My friend got cramps for 6 months before she got her period. I felt so bad for her.
And then her cramping triggered my own period to start. b***h (haha, I love her).

My cramps have gotten worse since I had my bub. Before that they barely existed most of the time
Well, I have a friend who was given an IUD a few months ago - her periods were a couple of days long and she never got cramps before, and now they're a week long and she gets horrendous cramps before it. The cramps are worse for me since I got it, and I've only had one period since (had it in about seven weeks) which was a week, same as I used to be, just heavier bleeding.

I never blacked out from my cramps but they did make me feel sick a fair few times. I don't know how much my body has changed since I got older, but things don't seem to be quite as bad as they used to be.
I have a question.

Me and my boyfriend have starting fooling around about two weeks ago, though we haven't had sex. I've been on a new birth control pill for two months, I had my period last month but halfway through I started the next pack early. I've had no break though bleeding since than.

my question is: I was due to start my period about two days ago, but nothing has changed, not even any cramps or backpain or my breast hurting.

Could my late period be due to starting to do sexual thing or what?
It's probably due to the new pills, especially if you're taking them before or after you're supposed to. Your body is likely having a mini-freakout because it's not sure what to do with these new-found hormones. Pretty typical.

I don't believe any age group treats women right, but I'll have to say that children and kids who still are bright eyed and innocent probably treat women the best since they pose little to no real threat.

I had a four year old slap me on the a** and say "All mine, ye-ah!"

Very informal and something that I think is needed. This thread was a great idea.

So lately i've been getting so over-emotional with my boyfriend and our relationship. We love eachother very much and we are very close. If we have a off moment, like we say the wrong things, I cry. A lot. I never used to be so emotional, he thinks I'm to hard on myself, which is probably true. I tend to think problems are my fault and things like that. Also when we cuddle and I think of how much I love him, I cry then too. UGH it's just frustrating, I don't know why I cry so much now. I almost think my hormones are going out of wack. What is going on!? gonk
@Isabella: how old are you again? Are you on any kind of medication/birth control? All these things can make your hormones go a bit crazy.

WTF does that even mean? Does it simply require a single woman to take the helm (become president/queen/whatever) or do women actually need to somehow elevate their gender to a higher legal status of superiority where they have constitutionally entrenched authority over males as a gender?
Hey, i was wondering if you guys could tell me what you know about Yaz? Its the only birth control that i can find that will stop me from getting pregnant again, and will help my PMDD. I was on Microgynon, and after having three unexpected pregnancies (that resulted in two children, i had an abortion.) over the10 years i was on it, i think its time to throw it away.
