Welcome to Gaia! ::

Okay, I have a bit of a bone to pick. The section on birth control has a few MAJOR problems.

A. It generalizes the majority of methods and uses only trade names, not generics.

B. It gives no instructions on how to obtain such items.

C. It gives no instructions in general.

D. It doesn't give much good reference towards the medecines mentioned.

I suggest resorting that section by a few methods. First of all, by whats over the counter and whats requires a prescription might help.

I also suggest a basic how to on condoms.

and explaining the pros and cons of each birth controll method.

Like Yaz might be a great b/c pill, if you can afford it. Ortho tri cyclen lo, another good bc pill, is available generic as tri sprintiec for $9 a month at target. Or the good part about missing your period is less hastle. the bad part is less of an ability to gauge if you're pregnant.

sexetc.org is good for more of the how to process, web md is a great reference on the medicines.

@Noodle: "Thank you. Like I said, I am constantly researching and trying to add more, but as more people request one thing, I am lead to make that first priority. I will try to get this as together as possible with the time I have and will try my best to update as soon as I am asked for info. I am sorry, but I thank you for the concern. It was requested that I give the generic of the product and not the name, as there are many different labels per generic and they all can get quite confusing. It is strongly recommended that you see your doctor before going on any type of birth control as they can find what it best for you and your body, this is the message I want to get across. Condoms and emergency contraceptives are the only ones sold in drug stores over the counter. Emergency contraceptives are not to be used often though, only in emergencies (failure of condom, femdom, etc). I am still editting this section and will continue to do so.

If there are any critiques on this thread I ask that they be PMed to me and not placed directly into the thread so I can find the information you are giving me more easily."
sex-ed + legal abortion = everyone's doing it right now..
@ Yumiko18Blues: Isn't that a little rude to say? Would you rather we have no sex ed and than people go around doing it?
I have a question. Does the discharge thing happen a lot to anyone else. I know I don't have an STD thank goodness. Of course it hasn't happened a lot lately since I've gotten out of the scary environment I live in. Does stuff like that happen to women when they are overly excited or scared? I thought it only happened to men.

@Yumiko18Blues: It's a good thing to know things about your body. These things aren't taboo anymore. It's not the devil to know medically what is happening to your body if your god didn't want you to know he wouldn't have given people the creativity to find out, or what ever it is that you believe in.

As far as abortion goes, it's not up to anyone what happens to a woman's body except for the woman herself, and if she choses that path or not is her business and not anyone elses. The only person who is actually ALLOWED to judge is what ever higher power she so chooses to believe in. It pisses me off that old white hared men get to decide what goes and what doesn't go when it comes to a woman's body. Are they going to pay her s**t. No, do they really give a damn about that baby. No, they only give two shits about their religion and their laws. To them anyone who doesn't pay their taxes, and keep them in their big fancy houses is a commodity. If it matters to you then don't do it yourself. It's as simple as that, but in any case it's the business of the individual not the public. You cannot control another human beings life you can only influence it, and all this hype about religion and taboo is obviously a BAD influence, because we have to have this sex-ed thread to teach people what happens to their bodies, and a LOT of people are ill-educated. So much for your systems and taboos, huh? Maybe this way a lot of teenage girls can go through life better educated that read this stuff, and in essence have a better life than going about it the ways set out by society within the schools and stuff. Maybe with this one thread, gaian people will think twice, and if they think a third time mayhaps they'll think seriously about wrapping it, pilling it, ringing it, abstaining it, or any combination that they feel will keep them safe. wink
Very helpful thread, thanks for posting^^

Tell us about the discharged...is it green, clumpy like cottage cheese?

I get a kind of discharge when I'm arouse, as d many women...its kind of opaque....its our natural lubrication. its also our bodies way of cleaning itself out.

here is a site with more information
hope this helps

Nope it's pretty clear. There's no color tint to it, though sometimes it comes out in clear jelly clumps, which is kind of weird to me, but it's always kind of done that since I got into masturbating, so I don't think there are any worries there. I'll get to reading that link now.
Thank you! That was really helpful, and it answered my question!
YAY

I am so glad to hear that
and it just sounds like an arousal thing...so thats good...you shouldn't ahve to wory about lubes and stuff if your body produces enough of its own.
8 pages and we still havent had trolls!
-huggles-

I have a small question I have not been able to find anything on the internet about.

Why is it that some women are more aroused during their cycle then when they aren't?
Hah. I never got sex education in high school.
My teacher that was supposed to do it was too scared.
So, all we just learned about was drugs and their consequences.
That was the ninth grade.
Sorry I've been very inactive lately. A lot of work. D:
If you have any specific questions regarding what topics I'm under, please PM me.

It's really all in the hormones. Hormone levels are different during that time of the month and some, though not all, women have more cravings for sex.
