Hello everyone, I've subscribed to this thread & now have a question, as tonight being the Super Moon & me being 3 cm dilated & 70% effaced is it possible that my little one could be born tonight or early in the morning. smile I'm really hoping that I get to see him soon.

Wow, seems like you and I are in the same boat. My last doc appt on thursday, my doctor told me I was 3cm (though she forgot to mention my efacement bcesause she was so surprised) but you're like two weeks earlier than me. She said that either she'd see me at our next appointment (this coming thursday) or earlier lol
Tomorrow IS Mother's day, so you never know!

My Luna has started leaving visible bruises on my belly... they are quite painful and COMPLETELY. UNNECESSARY.
crying

And the guys at work have start a pool on when I will be having her... the earliest date is the 13th... and the store manager seems to think she's gonna wait until the 24th or 30th. They said that the proceeds will go to me... and then the winner will just a get a smaller giftcard.
I just think that maybe the store manager has too much time on his hands.... stare
ok so how many of you are hitting bumps with in laws who want to try and give "advice" on how to raise your kids???

i ask because last night i'm pretty sure me and daddy made his mom pretty mad xd (i find it funny) but we were talking about taking mason to the river when he gets to be a year or so old and the fact that if we had a boat that yes he would have a lil life jacket and he would go out with us and he would be in the water with me swimming and oh my lord she was pissed to hear this.

i know not everyone agrees on how to raise kids but i grew up a backwoods lil country girl and i want my kids to have the chance to learn all the things i did and not be afraid of the woods or water or any of the animals you can find in both. and this seems to drive my mother in law up the wall.

Ashton has been playing in the water/ocean since he was 6 months old. rofl
Every time we get the chance we go to the beach and swim.

He doesn't even wear a life jacket, we just hold him xD! And since he could stand he would stand at the front of the water and just get splashed a little. Obviously we are always with him though.

Oh well, she'll live.

We told everyone that if they wanted to give us advice on something they see, then my family can tell me, and his family can tell him. I figured that way with the two filters, there wouldn't be a lot of anger. I can tell that I'm going to clash with his family. I don't want my kid to drink soda or coffee when they're 2-8 years old. I can give leeway to rootbeer and sprite, but that will be for me and James to decide.

Plus, I'm going to attempt to pause before picking up my child when it cries. I know that's not going to go over well, considering all of his family pick up a crying baby as soon as it cries. And a lot of their kids are really clingy....They recently broke the youngest girl out of the habit of going to the bathroom with her daddy because she didn't want to be away from him.

My side of the family, the only people I'm really going to be around are my parents and my sister/cousin. The only thing with my cousin's kids is that she doesn't give them much when it comes to boundaries. If they get into something she doesn't want them in, instead of working with them, she just gets a lock or something for it.

I got my mil mad when I told her that I'm allowed to drink when I'm breastfeeding. But then again, a lot of people get upset when I tell them that.

There's always going to be someone who disagrees with your parenting style. My fiance already has trouble with his mom, because whenever his daughter goes over THERE she is allowed to do things that she wouldn't be allowed to do if he were there - for instance, she doesn't care HOW much TV she watches, but Cody doesn't want her to be watching TV when it's nice outside or when she could be doing something more productive or creative or whatever. They had a HUGE issue with this last week, and it made Cody so mad that his mom even argued with him on it in front of his daughter at all. (He has a hard enough time showing his daughter that HE is in charge anyway...)
And her friend seems to think that pacifiers are the devil, and ANYTIME she sees a child with a pacifier or I talk about pacifiers or somebody else brings up pacifiers, she starts telling them off and saying how horrible they are and saying it's just bad parenting - when really, it's just a personal choice. Her I have learned to ignore. My MIL though, it's hard to argue with because I really do like her a lot and she DID raise my honey to my liking XD.
I try not to argue with anyone on parenting topics though, except cody, because I know it can be a sensitive subject for ANYONE who has raised a child.

Fact is though, I'm going to raise my child how I'm going to raise my child, and that's that.

So, we've all discussed what kinds of things you can do to GO into labor, but is there anything that anyone knows of that can PREVENT it? LOL I've just been kind of paranoid about doing things that will slow things down...

Also fairly certain that I just had a contraction that was stronger than any of the others. Is it wrong that I'm not going to tell my hubby unless I have another one? He's so freaked out about going in to work, and I don't want him to be stressed out while he's there today....

And yesterday Cody said that my lower back was swollen. I didn't notice it at all (I'm just used to having back aches now) but apparently it is less swollen today. Any ideas what this might be?

Sounds like edema in your lower back. I couldn't say what it might be sign of or if it's a sign of anything at all. Were you more active yesterday or did you do anything different? Drink or eat anything high in sodium?

No on the more active part, I think, and fairly certain I didn't have anything too high in sodium, but it's possible I suppose.

EDIT: My mind just doesn't function properly anymore, so I honestly couldn't tell ya lol
*sigh* my feet are so swollen ):

Last week, I had a job interview at Tim Hortons - a little cafe bakery thing here in town.
And the manager who interviewed me (not the guy who was supposed to!) told me she didn't want to hire me, because I'm pregnant - and IF a part time position EVER opens up, she'll TRY to call me. Even after she asked if I had plans for daycare&such after I have the baby and all that.

I'm still waiting for a call back from the company about it. If it weren't for that chick, I would've had the job. ): My little brother said it's good I didn't get the job, because I wouldn't fit in anyway - he said I'm too nice compared to all the chicks who work there. It's still ridiculous though.

One plus - I have an excuse to not do dishes lol. I can't stand at the sink, because my little belly (practically 6 months, and barely showing lol) is just big enough to make standing there to do them, impossible xD If I do, I have to stand sideways =3

im just over 36 weeks pregnant and for the past few days ive noticed the movements have dropped alot. i still feel her kick but before it would be all morning and most the night. is this normal as i know she will be getting big and running out of room
It's perfectly normal to notice a decrease in movement near the end. Not only has she run out of room, she's probably starting to engage, meaning she's in the "funnel" part of your uterus. As long as you continue to feel regular movements it's fine. Dexter has started a very gradual decrease in movement. He doesn't move all the time anymore, and tends to have periods of very heavy movement followed by long blocks of none. He rarely gives hard kicks anymore, and mostly just rolls around or adjusts.

He has also dropped and now my v****a hurts. emo

Yup! My doctor kept mentioning that at all of my appointments lol - she wanted to make sure I didn't freak out if and when my baby stopped moving as much. She did say that if I'm worried about it, I can eat something high in protien, drink some juice, and sit and relax and count movements. She said if there isn't six per hour after that, then I could call them. So maybe try that if you're worried?

AW! Well, don't worry too much... and soon you'll have the baby itself!
Lately, Luna has actually been giving me bruises from her kicks - although it less like kicks and more like she keeps pushing REALLY hard against different parts of my belly repeatedly. With her pointy little feet or knees or whatever... >.>
