They scare me because of their strictness, and so do Amish.
But I respect they are so close to God (mostly Amish, as saying that of Catholic would be generalizing... I guess with Amish as well, but they'd leave if they don't agree)

I like my liver, and I intend to keep it intact. I like my lungs, and I intend to keep those intact. I am not ready for baby drama if I make even a small mistake that ends up in me becoming pregnant. I can't afford abortion either so I keep my legs closed.

I'm Catholic, although I've fallen away from it through the years. But I would like to get back into it. My ex is Catholic, but she use to smoke, and drink, still drinks a bit when she's with other people, but she's underage

Pointless and outright bad.

I can soo no reason to think anything good has come of it.

And if it has, if ANYTHING actually good has come as a direct result of Catholicism, then it pales in comparison to the pointlessness of it's existence, and the disgusting evils committed by it in the past.

I say the same about Christianity in general, but Catholicism is among the worst offenders in this regard

It's a love hate relationship for me. You see, they are the closest surviving link we have to the ancient Roman Empire (however distorted that link may be, as ancient Rome in it's prime was proudly pagan, as I am), but they tend to be rather unreasonable when it comes to sharing their artifacts. I don't really agree with the belief system, but I too grew up Catholic, and went to a Catholic school from kindergarten through 8th grade. I don't like their intolerance and tunnel vision, and the beliefs are a bit skewed, but still...I put up with them (the officials at least, not the followers) because the Roman Catholic Church probably has the most records of ancient Rome out of anyone...as I said, I like them but I don't. It's quite difficult.

I don't want to do those things because I've seen that they have lasting negative effects on my health. I don't want to deal with mistakes that I made when I was young so I try to live a clean life. The last part may come gradually either when I'm married or when I'm ready.
