Please excuse the mule. I am a girl. I was wondering how common it is for an older girl dating a younger guy. It seems that society has accepted more of older guy dating a younger girl than an older girl dating a younger guy (not including cougars). I am in a relationship where I am the older one by a year and half difference.

Well generally with age differences in relationship it's also important how old the people are - it's different when they're e.g. 15 and 18 than 25 and 28.
In any case you should not worry about what other people think if you're happy with your relationship. It's your life, not theirs.
And 1,5 year seems a completely fine difference to me; people may find it strange if the girl is many year older, but 1,5 year really is not a lot.

Being a year older isn't really considered being an older woman. When you say that, people assume you're like, 5 or 8 years older.

Hell, my boyfriend is 6 years older than me and I don't consider him being an older man.

Well when I was 17 I was dating a guy who was 14. But it last only 4 months. We were too different personalities to stay together longer. It was actually more of a closer friendship than a romantic relationship.

Flings happen, but i doubt there are many that end up seriious and lasting. Mostly because women already mature before men, so a woman dating someone younger than herself is more like a woman dating a boy

I don't really see a problem with it as long as there's not some bizarre kind of age difference
