Welcome to Gaia! ::

American apparel has these "unisex" shirts, which are basically shapeless guy shirts with v-necks.

I bought one. My friend said she liked it. I said "its a boy shirt." She then did not like it at all.

Moral of the story... we interact with stupid people.
Well fro some reason (im in middle school) people make fun of me for wearing converse, so I tell em' to piss off.
Who cares if it's a girl shirt? Honestly it doesn't matter that much. It's just a top.
I have and awesome-sauce joker top that's intended for males, but I wear it anyway.

I have a shirt like that. Except it is a guy cut t-shirt but, it has a fat unicorn on it that ate a rainbow.

First time I wear it, my mom finds the humor in it, my dad threatened to throw it away if he ever sees it again.

I wear it whenever he isn't around... which luckily is alot.

I simply don't understand what is wrong with trying to find what you like, who cares? I don't see why it is socially acceptable for girls to wear guy's shirts, pants, heck even boxers but, heaven forbid a guy wear a girl's shirt. I simply don't see what is wrong with it.

Society today just isn't really ready to accept people who aren't "normal", if a guy doesn't like football, he is gay. If a girl likes football, she is either a tomboy or a lesbian. Why can't we just be who we are? Personally, I hate football... and all other sports except baseball. I don't hate baseball but, I am not a baseball geek, I simply can watch it.

I just wish that society would finally just accept that some people will be different, most will veer around in their teenage years in regards to clothing and style, most will return to normal in later years though. I just wish that people and society in general would accept me and anyone else for who they are, I hate that alot of people have to hide who they truly are in fear of what they may be labeled as.
♠ It sucks more when my mother doesn't buy clothing that look beautiful YET the god damned prices are so high!!!

& She's so scared to get close to anyone..

All I have to say is that I can see that guys can be more of the difficult gender to be more flexible with clothes. I wear boxer shorts to be, I wear mens t-shirts and I hate all the little frilly tops women "should" wear. My mother wants me to wear those frilly clothes that I do not like, I simply say no.

I bet it must be much harder for guys but honestly, I think guys look far better with tight shirts anyway. I don't care what people think and honestly, I agree with some of the other users, your mother is being really super silly about that shirt. If she has a problem with it, then that is her problem. You wear what you want. Her opinion should not effect what you wear.

...because everyone that ever said, "I'll be there", left.

I used to blame my not wearing feminine clothes on my not having an exaggerated feminine figure

But this year I'll see if
I can pull it off

Parents who overreact about their teenagers choices in clothing are nutcases.

It's like, if the child CHOOSES something "weird", it reflects badly upon the parents parenting skills.

GOD FORBID A TEENAGER HAVE A CHOICE IN WHAT THEY WEAR <.<

I hung out with a lot of the "emo/goth" kids in high school, and they always complained about what their parents thought of their clothing. I'm like "I don't see why, it's just clothing. It's not like you're cutting yourselves or something." Seriously. Older adults tend to think that because someone dresses a certain way, they're automatically associated with everything that style proclaims.

It's bullshit. I find that the older a person is, the quicker they are to judge somebody based on appearances. Sure, "goth" teens tend to look a little scary, and effeminate boys can come across as gay, but really... is that such a big deal?

I honestly can't wait until the geezers and the baby boomers die off. Even generation X. Once the younger generation enters adulthood, I think the world will be a better place. Most teenagers, unless they were REALLY influenced by their parents, are pretty accepting of people who are "different".

Sorry about the rant <.<

Back to the OP.

It's just a shirt, tell your mother to chill out. It's not like you're wearing rainbows and prancing around with a boy on your arm. Tell her if you WERE gay, you'd have a boyfriend by now <.<
Is it like, OBVIOUSLY a girl shirt?
I wasn't aware a normal shirt like that could be a girl shirt when worn on a guy.
You know, no waist/hips/tits and all.
I get s**t over what I wear sometimes. I've learned to sort of restrain myself rolleyes No girly clothing (nothing big, just things like jeans and some shirts), I wear my hair a little different than how I'd like to...and you know those jelly bracelet things? I wore those in middle school but would get teased a lot for them, so I mostly stopped...

It sucks how some people try to control what other people look like and how they think.

I have a tub (literally) of jelly bracelets that I used to wear. Not all at the same time, just like 2 - 10 at a time and people either thought it was gay pride or sex bracelets. It was neither. It was because I liked them.

I stopped wearing them after my mom asked if I was gay and considering they are against gay people, I stopped wearing them.
