Not being able to wear what you want to?

At Anime Expo 2009, I bought a shirt. A Silent Hill shirt. I love the shirt, cause I'm like, obsessed with the game. Anyway, after I first put it on, I realized it was a girl shirt. I didn't really care much, cause.. well.. I don't really see a problem with it.

My mom, on the other hand, is freaking out over it.

"YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR a** KICKED!!"
"YOU LOOK GAY!!!"
"PEOPLE WILL MAKE FUN OF YOU!!"

Honestly, I don't give a flying ********. I know how to defend myself, and nobody but my sister and mom have said anything thus far. A friend or two are like "Is that a girl shirt?" I just go "Yeah, I didn't notice till I put it on, but I don't care".

I honestly don't care what most people think anymore. It's just my mom that seems to have a problem.

Have you ever felt like you couldn't wear what you wanted to?
Do your parents act like it's the ******** 60's or 70's? Where people who were gay are shunned everywhere?

If I wore guy clothes, I think my dad would freak, because he doesn't like the idea of me being gay... but whatever.
It shouldn't matter what you wear, as long as you like it, and it's not like your leaving the house in a dress. I think you family needs to chill out, and get their heads in the 21st century. Sure there is still major discrimination going on towards the effeminate/gay... But I don't think you would have problems with your shirt in modern society.
Your mom needs to relax.

I'm glad people are agreeing. I know. I'm not gay, either, so what's the problem? I like this shirt, shouldn't I be able to wear it? It's not effecting her anyway.

That reminds of a time I bought a black shirt at a store that had only black shirts . . . for women! The problem was, I had a gift card at the store. My friends were so happy that day. xd

Ugh. I just ignored her and kept it on.

hey as long as you think it looks good then wear it! If u did/ do feel self conscious about wearing a girls shirt, u could always turn it into a patch and sew it on to a hoodie for a kick-a** one of a kind creation( I'm a huge diy fan it couldn't already tell) silent hill is an awesome game, i wish i had a shirt like that~
