Hello there. :3 I am currently a military girlfriend. I tried posting in the other military support thread a while back, but no one really paid attention to me, or my story. -sigh- so I'm trying again here. I've been together with my boyfriend for almost seven months now. He is stationed in Anchorage, and he's already been deployed once to Afghanistan for nine months. Which took place last year. He only needs two more years to go, and I'm really excited for that. whee

My boyfriend is in the army.
He gets most weekends off.
But it's taking a toll on my sanity.
Most guys only have to be in the (mandatory) army for a half a year here...
But my boyfriend wants to be a pilot in the army...

I'm going to be leaving for the Air force in about five months.
I have a long term girlfriend (2 years)
Im not sure if I should end things before I leave or keep them going.
My term is four years, but chances are I will probably be re-enlisting.

We love each other very much, but I feel like I dont want her sitting here being lonely
and just waiting for me to come back. I want her to be happy and be able to have a life
that consists of more than just waiting for my letters or my calls.

I'd marry her before I left so I could live off base after my training, but since I am gay
I wouldn't actually be able to do that, which also puts a strain on things.


Its the toughest thing for me to deal with right now.

I should clarify, female and gay.
So a lesbian.


I just don't know if I should do such a thing to her.
Stay in the relationship and leave her, you know?
I love her too much to let her be lonely I guess.
So that's my concern, I love her to the point
where i only care about her happiness.

And Im not sure making her wait for me for 4 years
will allow her to be happy.
