I am Atheist because there is no way to prove any religion, and I don't wish to blindly believe in any religion without proof.

Religion did not actually come around until after man began to get more spare time with Systematic Agriculture. Forgive me for thinking logically.

Though I disagree with your point of view, I won't attack you based on it.

Hahaha sorry... I was fixing my previous posts.... biggrin Oh and how can it be proven? As it is like in science.... a theory can be proved wrong with just one test... I have no idea how you can test religion... but I jsut want to know what proof there is neutral

Personally, I think it's because being a teenager is difficult and it's hard to have any set belief in something when you're having trouble. Some people may say that teenage problems are stupid and immature, but think about how you felt when you were a teenager. Think about the things that bothered you. It didn't matter how insignificant or immature they were, all that matter is that they bothered you in that moment. In that moment of your life you didn't know where to turn to.

My opinion on god is that he indeed lacks a presence on earth. People say that if you pray god will help you. However, all I have learned about god points to the opposite. God gave us free will. God gave us the ability to decide and create our own path in life. In order for this to be true he cannot interfere. So there is nothing but faith. But, for a teenager, it's hard to have faith when there is no evidence of something being real. And will all the controversy the different sects of christianity have about their own god, how would one even know what is right and what to believe in?

Personally I do think there is some higher power. There is purpose to events in life, though I'm unsure about a grand purpose or meaning to life.

A lot of it is that everything seems to be in black and white. You believe or you don't. Most people probably believe that you have to be part of a religious organization, and follow all their beliefs, to claim a religion. And being agnostic isn't something you hear of every day. I think mostly it's because people who are agnostic, since they don't tend to lean to any particular side, don't really argue about it. While atheists and theists are at eachothers throats, agnostics are going about their lives.

Thank you, for your time. I am glad that you understood my question and gave me a great answer.

np. I'm gonna be 19 in January so my teenage years aren't so far gone that i've forgotten how I felt and why I walked away from organized religion.

As for atheism, logic can never explain how everything began either because it contradicts itself. For something to exist, there must be a beginning. This would make the universe finite. However, for a beginning to exist there must be something prior to the beginning to start it. Thus something must ALWAYS come before it to make it exist. This logic makes the universe infinite. If you really think about it, just trying to figure out if the universe if finitie or infinite is so confusing the only logical thing to do is just live your life and stop trying to understand something that clearly cannot be understood by our logic.

I guess you can say I'm still technically a teenager because I am 19. Except I'm a Christian. I have tried Atheism and Agnosticism, I couldn't continue with either because I find it hard to actually believe in myself due to issues I've had with myself for the past 6-7 years.

However unlike most Christians, I don't have a fear of God. For me fear can lead to hatred and anger towards God and also a form of disrespect. Which is what I feel has lead many atheists to dislike YHVH and his followers or at least the nutty ones.

However the atheists who claim God doesn't exist and say Christians are idiots for believing in YHVH are what I like to call angstheists. They're about as annoying as the fundamentalist Christians.

Ah, Intresting. However, I am looking if I want to settle with a religion or be agnostic. I try to enjoy my life the best way I can. Thank you for this intresting information.
It's up to you. For me it was hard to actually settle with a religion or realize that at heart I've always been a Christian. Dealing with a lot of personal drama can do that to you. sweatdrop

I stay away from Teen Drama. I was raised differently from other kids, thus I have different views. Hell, I still don't even own a cell-phone due to it being useless to me in my opinion.

Yes, that is one problem I have. The whole logic hurts thinking of how it all began, and I do agree that we should look towards our future.

Beliefs are religious terms.

I believe that my dog is stupid.
This is a belief.
It isn't religious in any sense of the word.

Quote:
Saying you're an Athiest is same as saying that you are in a Religion that doesn't belive in god.

Except, no, it's not, since those religions are a lot more complicated than a single belief.

Go away.

When you have lots of teenagers "preaching" how there is no god, it's hard to say it's not a religion. Also, funny how you use Gaia Logic.

How do you know he is not Agnostic? And no no teens don't talk about religion at their age.... they talk about their LIFE..... excluding religion

I stated before that I won't be talking about this topic. However, I will state that alot of kids do try to force their religious views on others.

In the end, what I think everyone should do is just mind their own business and do what is right to eachother. Don't kill, don't do anythnig to hurt eachother. You can have your beliefs but since no one can prove either side, why argue?
I'm not a teen anymore, but I've always felt the same way about religion.
I'm not fully atheist though, I'm keeping an open mind and I find some
religions really fascinating. I can see why so many want to believe.
but I just don't believe in any gods.

It's not teen drama. It was basically getting blasted for my seemingly different beliefs and how I didn't believe exactly like the rest of the Christians I encountered.

I have cell phone for communication and emergency purposes. I barely use it and people rarely call me.

Sigh... I'm super sorry... but I have me thoughts and you have yours.... I am just saying how I feel.... Nobody really knows how this whole world began... I'm not atheist I'm agnostic... but I have one question for you..... how do you know all teens are atheists... we are getting the idea we are agnostic because we have no proof and are tired of it..... but then by the time we are out of our teenage years.... how do we become religious again?

Really? Maybe you haven't been to the M&R or been to any of the Christian guilds. They do talk about religion, and the beliefs of others. And hope to convert others because they worry about their souls.

Ah ok, sorry I got abit of. And, sorry that not everyone could agree with you.
Personally I believe that God created the big bang and let anything happen. I have no idea what happens after we die and choose not to think about it too much. Most of my friends either believe something similar or are agnostic.
