a tiny bit of benadryl won't hurt a cat, something like 1/3rd of a 25mg pill for a medium-sized cat. even a whole one won't hurt it, but it will be out for a while.

I don't think so...I've never seen a cat "come down" from catnip. They may seem less active because before they were going insane.

No, it really is kitty weed. It makes them spaz, then they're tired and pass out. My cats will sleep for hours after they get n**. They play for 20 minutes, find a spot to lay down, and they're zonked for at LEAST an hour.
