It's strange to me, but only because I don't know it well, and am not used to the idea.
But I don't have a problem with transgenders.
I believe everyone should live how they like, and if living as a different sex is what they want/need to do, than fine.

I actually know a female-to-male transgender.
She's 17, like me, and is taking hormones.
I have only known her as a female, then she switched schools, so I haven't actually talked to her since.
But I imagine she's the same person, just happier and more confident.

Hi

My names Lexa and i'm a 22 year old transgender. (M-F) i recently decided to come out and have been shunned by alot of people i thought were my Friends. i know that i'm diffrent but i want to know what some different views on this are and maybe ill understand why people are treating me differently even tho i am still the same person

I went through this with my best friend, actually. she's really happy now, she was never meant to be a guy. A lot of people confuse the transgendered with homosexuality and even though each community supports the other, they are not the same thing, so maybe that is where the judgmental side of your friends is showing.

You'll have to get new friends who aren't jerks, but hey do you need friends who will not stand by you through thick and thin? Or do you need ignorant twats who don't understand that being transgendered is not something you choose?

Best of luck. In the long run it's for the best to weed out the people that cannot get over themselves and be happy for you.

thanx that acctully made things abit easier to bear im very glad you posted that!! *huggles*
I support you all the way. some people think you should just stay your same gender because it's 'what god gave you' or whatever. but no one really cares what haters think, so you shouldn't be worried about your ex-friends. just find friends who respect all your decisions. besides, there's alot of transgendered models out there who usually own all the other ones. biggrin
I have absolutely no problem with transgendered people, and see them as normal persons just like anyone else.

My best friend is a female-to-male transgendered, and I don't think of him (I prefer to use his pronoun of choice) as any different than anyone else; he's still the same Jesse who draws cool-looking hybrid creatures, chews on his cellphone when bored, and can discuss the finer points of anything that interests him.

In short:
I view transgendered people as being just as human as anyone else.
I dont have a problem. As long as you have a good personality, i dont think anyone should have anything to hate you for.

I love positive feedback it always helps me out
I have nothing against transgendered people. A person is a person, we're all carbon-based, we have thoughts, emotions, talents, and intelligence... there is no reason to hate a person because he or she is gay, transgender, lesbian, bisexual.
