I would love to eat pork without guilt, but my being raised adventist bore into my skull that pork was a dirty unclean meat.

Same here. I can't bring myself to eat pork, even though I am atheist and so is my whole family, but I grew up in a Muslim community and the thought of eating pork makes me sick.

I'm a Catholic and right now I'm trying really hard to understand my Catholic community's beliefs.


Just now in religion clas we learned that our people don't beleive that if you are 'free' you do not have freedom from something, you have freedom for something. You have to do God's will to be free. You have to follow rules like the Ten Commandments to be free. So, what is free?


If there are any Catholics here who understand would you mind sending me a PM to explain it a little better?


As for the original post that everyone has strayed away from, no I've never been in that situation.
