Can somebody help educate me on hardcore music and what separates it from metal and screamo and I am just getting really confused because I see metal kids who look like hardcore kids or edge kids who like hardcore and its driving me up the wall....please someone help me shed some light on this situation?

Honestly I listen to like every form of that music and it almost feels like they are splitting hairs here its a bit ridiculous....and it makes it harder to hang out with everyone cause they never get along with each other even though there music is pretty much the same

They all do sound very similar, but there is a key difference. That my friend is singing tone.

Death Metal focuses on high and low growls.
Hardcore focuses on melodic and scream-growls.
Screamo, well.. you obviously know what they do. If you don't. You're an artard. :3
