I was 12 when I got mine. I'd heard of periods and seen pads/tampons, but didn't know to much about the whole process.
Since mine start out dark brown I spent the first two days crying and keeping it a secret thinking I was either crapping myself without realising or my intestines were going to fall out! rofl
Monday morning comes and I see some red blood. I knew that meant it was my period BUT I thought that once you had it, you'd NEVER stop bleeding.
So I cried even more and told my dad that I thought I had them. He gave me an awkward hug and told me to phone mum at work. She laughed and told me how to use pads over the phone. I made her promise not to tell anyone, but she was proud as punch and told my extended family and friends' parents! D:
And my dad made me go to school anyway.
