That's it. After such a magical experience at Anthrocon 2014, I'm gonna move in from the outskirts of the fandom and be a furry in full. And I'll be making a blue panda fursuit using some of the awesome resin pieces that I got from the dealers' room.
No fandom has ever given me as much hope for humanity as the people I met over the weekend.
I've never heard someone say that about furries before.
The way I see it, many other conventions (anime, comics, video games, etc.) are centered around many consumers who are interested in some kind of subject that's produced by either a vague faceless entity or some 'untouchable' celebrity. Individuals are disjointed and can be a tad selfish at times.
With furries,
we are the producers and the subject. We make these conventions happen because we can. I think that creates an amazing sense of community. Everyone I met treats the furry fandom like one big family. It's beautiful.
That's awesome you had a great time, and that sense of friendship and community is what really got me into the fandom in the first place.. If you ever plan on getting a suit of your fursona Phoenix Wolf Fursuits has the best pandas I've ever seen and the quality is fantastic..
