I've noticed that due to living in a small city and rarely going out and socializing (My best bet is occasional parties, anime cons, and concerts) I've resorted to talking to my internet friends, especially on the phone. Is that a bad thing?

Also, this thread has a 2nd purpose. I would like some more internet Gaia friends, read my profile to see what I'm like and then PM me if interested. 8D

Why would it be a bad thing? I find it easier to be myself online, and therefor the friends are truer. But you can't go around believing everything a person says. Learn who they are, and don't give them personal information right off the bat. If you're a minor, don't do it at all.

Other than that, I have a ton of online friends and they're all so great!

If it's a bad thing, then I'm not the greatest person there ever was.
I think it's really fun meeting new people from different parts of the world and learning things about people I don't know irl.
I've made some really close friends online, and there's nothing wrong with resorting to the web for friends (as long as you have some irl), especially living in a small town.

If you're on the internet long enough, you'll pick up friends there. I have friends that I've know only online for years. It's not a bad thing. It's fairly normal.

I have no problem with online friends, as long as you don't completely shut out the people in your real life.
One of the best things about the internet is meeting people from all over the world and share hobbies and interests that people in your hometown would find completely obscure.

Unless you start calling them and breathing heavily into the mouthpiece,
no.
Having internet friends can actually help you make irl ones as well.
Unless you're a total hermit, in which case you're screwed anyway.

I'm not seeing a problem. You're still socializing. Just make sure you go outside sometimes so you don't end up with a Vitamin D deficiency.

Meeting people online gives you people to talk to, and everyone needs to talk to someone =)

Though.. you might want to be careful of who you're meeting offline though. As its been said sometimes what they appear to be like online, might not be how they're actually like offline =) So just use caution sometimes. xD

it's all i've got, when you're in my head...

OH s**t OP ARE YOU COSPLAYING AS VIRAL

BECAUSE IF YOU ARE I MIGHT HAVE TO LOVE YOU

Anyways

I'm at that special age where almost every teenager decides that being normal isn't good enough and that the only thing to remedy a boring existence is to get an abusive boyfriend, drink a lot, take shrooms, and generally completely change from a friend to someone who refuses to do any of the old activities you used to do, because they don't involve any of the above.

So yeah, almost all of my friends are online now.

Except, I have just recently made a few new ones. That makes me feel a bit better.

...and you're in my head, so i need it.

what if i really am....completely alone?'
