I fail to see any hilarity in someone running around stage screaming, crying and speaking in syllables (Dane Cook).
My favorite comedians are Bill Bailey, Jim Davidson, Lee Evans, Russel Howard, Lenny Bruce (R.I.P) and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Do you put the kettle on?

Edit: I forgot two more people, my IRL friend Coryn Harper, he's so hilarious but doesn't think he would do any good at Stand-Up. Also, I don't remember the name (I think it's Dylan Moran though I may be very wrong) plays the leading role in "Black Books" and is also in "Shaun of the Dead" and "Run Fatboy Run"

I used to think Chris Rock was funny, then I saw more of his stand-up (all i'd seen was the Niggers vs. Black People speech). He was good in Dogma and J&SB Strike Back (for the few seconds of screen time he actually has) though.
