Last year I skipped out on Junior prom and this year my plans are to skip Senior prom as well.
I understand why some people feel it's part of the high school experience. However, I don't see the point of spending hundreds of dollars going to a party that will most likely bore me to death and simply doesn't interest me. However, a tiny part of me wonders if I will ever regret not attending this high school tradition.

I always told myself I was not going to go to prom. But I did go to the after party. And it was insane. Lots of hot boiz ready for my body, until the cops showed up because a group of random drunken losers who weren't even associated with our school, or our brother school decided to show up get piss drunk and smash beer bottles on some guys head which instigated a very serious fight. Nobody likes to have cops show up in the middle of nowhere of some girls huge a** mansion/farm because of drunk idiots.

The moral of the story.. Dont go to prom... Go to the after party!

Day after, I see all these pretty pictures of girls getting all dressy and such.
I didn't go because it's a s**t lot of money for only one night, so why bother. Then when I came back to school the following monday, all I heard were awesome stories and "BUT WHY DIDNT YOU GO?!".

I'm still debating whether or not to go to ball next year.
I really don't think it's worth hundreds of dollars, but at the same time, it's at a country club with all my friends crying

TBH I never even cared. All my friends had graduated, my boyfriend was too old for the school to allow him to go to prom with me, etc. I didn't see the point of going to my senior prom. To this day I don't see much of a point to it :/ I can spend a bagillion dollars on a dress and tickets, or I can spend a hundred bucks on a dress if I want and then 10 dollars on a ticket for the masquerade balls at anime conventions.
