I wouldn't say its selfish. I honestly wouldn't want to kill myself, I think that whether you have a good or bad life, you should live it out as long as you can.

It used to be looked at like that as a way of a person to maintain their honor. But now we're a society of cowards, killing yourself these days isn't because it's the honorable thing to do or anything like that. Yeah, it's selfish.
And I'd hope someone would care if I died... And in fact, that's the most selfish thing of all. If i were a selfless person, I'd hope nobody would care. |

I wouldn't call it selfish. Someone who commits suicide is in a really different frame of mind that the average person really can't comprehend. Everyone has a different capacity to deal with different pressures and stresses, physically or emotionally, and we don't know the specifics about a person's life to judge them. I don't think we should judge them. It's sad when someone goes in that direction, but if we're to call it selfish, then wouldn't those who wants to keep the person alive be selfish too? They don't want to feel the pain of losing that person so to save themselves pain they'll prolong the other's suffering. |

I wouldn't say that it is selfish, nor would I act like I understand the feelings of those who choose to do so. However, I do know that suicide leaves a scar on the world that will hurt people for generations to come. It affects more people than one would think.

I think it would be so cruel to have someone kill themselves and leave us behind to hurt . So yes it would be selfish to do that. Beside if your a faith believer it's a sin that can't be undone because your dead and gone and no way to make amins.

I can see why people think it'd be selfish because it means loved ones would be all SAAAADDDD and s**t, so yeah I guess it's sort of selfish. But I don't look down on it since they have their reasons and it's their choice.. but of course if a loved one of mine decided to end their lives I'd try to convince them to not because of course, they're a loved one. Anyone would.
