specially since all people can think is to complain bout em an call em *****
I mean thas not fair is it
rubbin salt inna wound if ya ask me

My issue with the "***** are drawn to MLP" accusation isn't that it's controversial; it's that it makes no sense. There is nothing in MLP:FIM that would appeal to a *****. They're drawings of freaking horses, not drawings of children. So, my point is, why accuse adult fans of being *****? There must be another reason.

Cuz its audience if meant for little children and its just creepy a full grown adult man or any adult wants to watch my little pony.

The shows creators wouldn't have Weird Al Yankovich as a guest voice if they only wanted to appeal to children.

Weird Al Yankovich's target audience is twelve year old boys.

True, but considering he got his start in the 1980s, many of his current fans would be (and are) adults.
Do you have an opinion (whether positive or negative) about the MLP:FIM fandom?
In general I get along with bronies who are just fans of the show and all that. They are awesome. However I'm pretty disgusted by the pornography aspect that some bronies embrace. That being said I won't condemn anyone as long as they are not imposing their sex lives upon children or animals or others who can't or won't consent. (And no, I don't think that just because someone is into a cartoon horse it automatically means they are ***** or zoophiles)

Do you think there are any legitimate reasons to dislike said fandom?
*shrugs* I can see why some people think it's wierd but as long as they aren't harming anyone I can't see why anyone would care what they like.

Do you think that brony haters are misinformed/misguided/ect?
Like any intenet group people are always going to focus on the negative aspects. If someone in their community is into something extra weird then the whole community get labeled badly. I think people need to remember that just because some people make it sexual, that isn't the typical reason people like MLP. Its just a cute, funny show.

Not really. I might have an opinion about certain types of people (the misogynistic pigs) but it would be stupid to hate the fandom because of those people. I like the few fans I know who are MLP collectors from before the newer show.

The creepy and disrespectful guys could certainly ruin the fandom for a lot of people. After hearing all the s**t I have, I'm thinking about cosplaying as something different (I was gonna dress up as a Mori-Fluttershy at Comic con) to avoid the weirdos.

Personally I don't find a problem with the sexualizing of the ponies, underage or not. I mean I think it's kind of gross and not hot, but are they actually having sex with horses or underage children? No. And I think until all of the bronies do this I don't think it's grounds to condemn them. I do, however, understand why people would be uncomfortable with the fandom because of this. Cause it's weird, especially added to the way some of the men in the fandom act.

No, I think most everyone knows how they work and the bronies make no attempt to hide it.

Anxious Prophet

Before I made fun of it, I decided I needed to have a better understanding of the source. I had someone link me an episode on youtube and I didn't make it five minutes.

Now I normally avoid telling people that they're weird for what they like but grown a** men my age going down this dark path is something I can't wrap my ******** mind around.

Having said that, I just leave them to it.

I guess we should have seen a new wave coming after sanic fans.

I'm neutral on it. There are goodness knows how many shows/books and whatnot out there with their own fandom, MLP is one of them. Certainly it has existed for quite some time, but the FIM 'reboot' has given it a new surge in popularity.

No particularly. You have vocal weirdos in every single fandom out there, MLP is bound to be no exception. I don't hate on a fandom for a few rotten apples.

Yes. Haters of any fandom (i, furry) tend to see the negatives first and focus exclusively on those. ❞

Deathly Protagonist

Idc if adults like MLP. Idc if adult men like MLP. As long as they arent fedora-wearing reddit-humping bigots who wank it to pony porn, I don't see the issue.

Do you have an opinion (whether positive or negative) about the MLP:FIM fandom?
My opinion is more dependant on the people rather than the fandom itself. I have nothing wrong with the fandom as it's like any other fandom; it can be good, but it can also be pure cancer. Regarfless I've met some really awesome people who like MLP:FIM; one even being my best friend, but I have also met a lot of people who like it, but are regardless quite unsettling to be around for instance, I once had a "neckbeard" wearing a MLP hat come up to me and try to hit on me when I was with my boyfriend just because I had a Pokemon shirt on.

Then again, what I'm trying to explain is that it's not the fandom, but rather some individuals who are apart of said fandom that can create a negative experience and view of it.

Do you think there are any legitimate reasons to dislike said fandom?
I think as I said, the likeness of some individuals within the fandom is what is causing a dislike towards it. I've heard stories where at one of the movie premiers, a father with his daughter who is a huge fan of the series were attacked by the generalisation of a bunch of overweight middle age men and were called "filthy casuals" as a result, but then again, as I also said, any fandom is like that.
I personally think the anime fandom is probably worse than the MLP one, but it's dependant on who is asked.

Do you think that brony haters are misinformed/misguided/ect?
Immensely. Any fandom has it's flaws whether it be the HP, anime/manga, MLP or furry fandoms, but it doesn't represent the fandom as a whole. I have met people who are pardon my French, f**king disgusting from the anime fandom in which I am apart of yet I have met people who are super cool like my best friend who is a brony. I think at the end of the day, we just should respect each others fandoms as long as we aren't hurting anyone else. There is no perfect fandom. Some are worse than others, yes, but we just need to find a middle ground and that is we're also dorks at the end of the day.

But seriously though, I probably will never join it as I'm not a fan of the show. Personal preference bro.
It's all good and fine for adult men to like MLP. But I do not much care for the 'Brony' fandom. I don't think that too many of them actually appreciate MLP, it's just a fad for them. They say that they're defying gender roles by liking something 'girly', but then they turn around and say that MLP isn't for girls anymore, and that the old generations are terrible because they are "too girly".

Don't even get me started on the pornographic content that they draw and do not properly tag. Bronies (men) took a show with feminist ideals and somehow managed to make it all about them. Of course, they did.

feminist ideals

That's a curious one.
Tell me more, because I don't quite believe that just yet

My husband and I both like MLP:FiM. No shame in it, we're not weird and creepy. Just means when our daughter starts watching T.V. we don't have to argue over the channel.
lol
