Do you have a cultural veto?

Not too often, but every once and awhile I get my dander up about something	46.9%	[ 23 ]

Shoujo Kakumei J-chan

Most of the popular movies from the past decade. Any fantasy novels about vampires. X-Box and the Halo series. Emo bands that want to be punk rock but fail miserably. American Idol (and reality TV in general).

Oh god yes. That one I refuse to even read the summary just because the fans are so aggressive. But the snippets of what I've heard have only reinforced that notion.

That and vampires are over-romanticized leeches anyway.

I only read it for the sake of completion and to find out what the hype was about. I will say vampires are Cliche nowadays, but if you want something good, pick up Drakula. It's the only decent one out there.

I will amend that. "Modern" vampires are over romanticized leeches. Dracula is different. What if someone took Frankenstein and did the same thing?

Napoleon Dynamite. I watched it, it was not funny. In fact, I looked at a rock afterwards, and I was closer to laughing than I had been for the entire length of that "film".

And Halo 3. All three of them are mediocre, overhyped games, but this one is the worst offender of the three. If I want to play with a piece of s**t, I'll find a public washroom, that won't cost me $60.

A lot of the entertainment nowadays in going down. MTV=bullshit! (Excuse my language).

All we have nowadays is Reality show, reality show, reality show. Few movies come out that are new and not based on some other work. Even children's TV is brainwashing them to be dumb teens before the even get to puberty.

Books aren't as good as their older ones. It's such a same.

i thought the golden compass would suck cause it was written to be an anti christian narnia. everyone kept on saying how cool it was. i went to see it. it was one of the worst movies i had ever seen in my life gonk

Superbad. No, it is not the best movie ever. It is not even close to being the next Animal House. It did have potential, but they completely blew it. You can't make a comedy movie entirely out of sex jokes, which is what they tried to do. I think it failed miserably, but everyone's always quoting it. Then, they made Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which is pretty much the same movie with menially different characters and a different setting. Jonah Hill's career is going to end abruptly before he actually becomes funny...

It is a shame. There are still a few that are great, but a lot of it does end up recycled.

But as for children stuff... I remeber how people used to complain about Barbie, but she's NOTHING compared to BRATZ! At least SHE had career(s). You could choose to be a Dr., Vet, Acrobat, etc. With Bratz the only choice your really have is what street corner do you want them to work. That's a veto I'm taking on behalf of my nieces and any future daughter I may have.

Edit: As for the Frankenstein, I can sadly see someone actually trying to do it. I would not be surprised at all.

I would rather have Barbie then anything that comes from Disney Channel nowadays. If I ever have a daughter, I would try my best to influence an imagination in her.
