Why is it that no one on these forums seems to understand the meaning of satire? I posted a wanted poster for Eragon Shadeslayer as a satirical character study in the Lit board, and got the same response until I explained it...
What I was trying to do was post a moderately humorous form of addressing Obama's arrogance, stupidity, and naivete in going personally to Copenhagen, with his best argument for Chicago getting the Olympics was that his children would be able to walk to it. I accomplished this by putting the words of Kael'Thas Sunstrider in his mouth - the arrogance they shared in their actions could be considered mirror images.
Had his reasons been better, had his plan been more coherent, this would not have been posted. But this was not the case, and he made America look stupid in the process. And we really need another reason for the other nations to think that.
As for why this is on this particular board: 2 reasons. Chatterbox is spam for spam's sake, whereas this is satire with a purpose behind it. Also, is this not the place for political discussion? If it isn't, I'll delete the post
