If I became popular in high school terms, I'd get so high on the pedestal, then during lunchtime make a poop on the cool kids' table. There'd be nowhere else to go than where I am today.

the "cool kids" here are total bitches and assholes...no lie..what's funny is..these are our juniors..my batch are seniors right now and it's like "if I'm buddies with a senior I'm automatically cool"...it's all the same from the freshmen up to the juniors..so seniors are their ticket to being cool...

er I'm from an art school and the visual dept (mine) are usually the mellow, neutral group..you can mix us with anyone..although..we've been called "emo" recently..

Everyone wants to be cool. The people are just like "I don't want to be cool." are just non-conformists who think that non-conformity will make them cool.

I was myself, the whole non-conformity thing is just bollocks, conform or not, what does it matter?

    Popularity in highschool is useless.

Besides the fact that highschool kids who think they are cool are really just idiots.

Thank god I wasn't popular in highschool.
I have no clue who or what is cool, so I do what I want and hope it gets me somewhere. I don't actually have many friends, but I think thats more due to the fact that I've only ever, in my whole life taken two different classes at a public school. And a good quarter of my life was spent in the middle of nowhere. So...yeah.
i like being myself & that's what i'll be.
wether someone thinks i'm cool or not for it, that's completely up to the person.
No at my school they are jerks and no one actually likes them. I like my friends which for the most part are your nerds.

I was a loser the first two years of high school, trying to be all original, and then grew up and now everybody likes me.

My scenario exactly. From 7th grade to freshman year I was one of the kids who though being the stereotypical 'cool' kid was lame, and that being the polar opposite made me unique.

Then my friends from that crowd all left and I had to make new friends. By sophmore year I had new friends from all different aspects of life, and I pretty much learned that hating on people for being liked was retarded, and that you make your own judgements of people, not everyone else judging you.

Now I'm actually pretty popular, to my surprise. But it's a nice kind of popular, like "Hey, there's Jaz, 'sup girl?!" rather than "Lol you should have heard what she did the other night." - which is what you normally hear about the kids who think they are OMG supercool.
The thing with friends, is that you can't always pick them, sometimes they just happen. I have friends that are totally outcasts and one of my good friends apparently knows everyone (and everyone knows her). I don't care, people apparently know me (maybe it's the fact that I have blue hair, a lip ring and I'm quite outgoing) but who knows.

As for things I'd change? In middle school and the beginning of high school I did try to conform a bit, I wish I could redo those moments so I could be who I know I am. Maybe I would have gained better friends that way.
Well, I like to be "cool", but I like me to think I'm cool. When other people disagree, my enormous ego informs me that they are wrong. rolleyes
Pssh... high school. All that's left for me is to graduate and go off to college. From what I hear, nobody remembers any of it when they're older and successful.

Its something I didn't even pay attention to. Cool, not cool... I never figured out just why it mattered to so many people. All of that becomes meaningless as soon as you're out of school, so why bother.
I'm not sure what's my status in my school...

My school's 70% Asian and follows the typical Asian stereotype, so at my school...
SMART people are popular. lol

I'm not that smart, but I'm far from being the dumbest kid at my school.

I'm acquainted with pretty much a couple of people from every group, but I hang out with the more "obscure" people, who are fairly smart but kind of view the school population from a more objective viewpoint. It's hard to explain. >-<

I like who I am, so my status is fine the way it is. ^-^
I don't know that I want to be cool so much as well-liked. My school is so large though that the hierarchy is much more racial than social.
