AZN!
I'm a CBC though: Chinese born Canadian.
All banana.
I will never understand this.
Did you ever learn french in canada?
Never understand what?
I live in Quebec, and French is the official language in our province, so yes, I did all of my high school in French.
That
Did you learn Chinese...wait is Chinese the language or is it Mandarin..I forget. Anyways did you learn Chinese (or Mandarin) at a young age? If you did, how hard was it for you to divert to another language?
The banana thing? Well, most of my friends are white, my bf's white and my asian friends are all CBC's as well. A banana is someone who looks asian on the outside but has all of the same values, mannerisms and interests as "white" people.
Chinese is a "language" but no one speaks Chinese, we speak different dialects of it. Mandarin is one such dialect. To answer your question, yes, at home we speak mandarin. Because I have been in a trilingual environment my entire life, I find myself switching back and forth very easily and I think in all three languages as well.
