I was told that an agnostic is just an atheist who doesn't know it yet. lame...

Thats not true. :c It bothers me when some people dont know the difference.
Agnostics leave religion to the unknown, while Atheists say that there is absolutely no god.
Im a weak agnostic, so its like saying "I don't know whether any deities exist or not, but maybe one day when there is more evidence we can find something out."

I also believe that children shouldnt be taught religion because they are naive.
Children will believe almost anything their parents tell them.
I think religion should be something for you to find out later in life if you chose to.

I'm Agnostic.. I have nothing against religion and am pretty open-minded to the possibilities of there being a higher being or not. It just bugs me sometimes that my mom is kind of on my back about my change of faith.

What bugs me is that she's trying to bring me back to church and takes it upon herself to convert me.. Hinting here and there about going back to the ministry, joining the choir, read the bible, pray before going to sleep...

It's really starting to annoy me...

Well, I have been agnostic for my whole life, and probably will remain so. But, dosen't it kinda bug you that where ever you go, someone has to ask you your'e religion(like if your'e meeting someone) and you say your'e agnostic, at least one person says, "Why don't you believe in God". And then a lot of people start treating you different like your'e diseased. That annoys me so
much. You?

I don't really get annoyed. I kind of like hearing other people's logic and reasons for believing in God. I've even inadverdently converted someone to agnosticism.

ALMOST EVERYONE, THEISTS INCLUDED IS AGNOSTIC.
GNOSTICS KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THERE IS/ARE GOD/S (WHOEVER), AGNOSTIC JUST MEANS YOU HAVEN'T TALKED WITH THE BIG GUY(S) YOURSELF.
FOR EXAMPLE, MOST CHRISTIANS ARE AGNOSTIC THEISTS.
ATHEISM AND AGNOSTICISM BOTH RELATE TO GOD/S, BUT ARE NOT THE SAME. ATHEISM IS BELIEVING THERE IS A GOD. GNOSTICISM IS HAVING HAD TEA WITH HIM.
IF YOU ARE NOT SURE/DON'T CARE, YOU ARE A SOFT ATHEIST, SINCE ATHEIST JUST MEANS NOT BELIEVING IN GOD, WHETHER THAT'S EXPLICITLY BELIEVING THERE IS/ARE NO GOD/S (HARD ATHEISM) OR SIMPLY LACKING A BELIEF IN ANY GOD WITHOUT HAVING CONCLUDED THAT THERE ISN'T ONE.

I've only been called Atheist once, but it was by accident so I corrected them and we moved on.

I only became Agnostic after living in a strict Catholic household my whole life, along with being in a very Christian family. I was always told what to believe, and up until high school, I never questioned it. As I grew older though and learned more about other religions and even did some studying of the bible of my own and in other types of churches, I realized that I don't believe in God. I do however believe that there is a force out there that is stronger than all of us, and that can't be explained or labled as easily as people do with their God. }}

I make sure to surround myself with people who don't judge you by your religious beliefs. I believe in God but I don't believe in worshiping him hardcore, but I don't get shunned for not going to church or praying before going to bed. People who choose their friends by their beliefs are usually very close-minded.

I used to be agnostic, but I have many blessings in my life that I don't believe I worked for, so I believe it came from the big guy up there, and manners matter to me, so I thank him a lot. I DO care now.

i'm agnostic when i think about it but i rarely think about it so i am pretty much atheist. its (for me at least) pointless to think about that sort of stuff when nobody has any proof or answers and its all just guesses or creative stories written by other humans.

People once again seem to be confusing the five different religious opinions.

Strong Theist: Knows there is a god. Example: The pope.
Weak Theist: Thinks there is a god, but will never be sure. Example: The average christian.
Agnostic: The undecided stance, the ones who are not sure whether there is a god or not.
Weak Atheist: Thinks there is not a god, but will never be sure. Example: Me, and probably most atheists on here.
Strong Atheist: Knows there is no god: Example: Richard Dawkins.

I'm agnostic. Logic cannot take one to any great ontological truths beyond solipsism. I walk the road my senses present to me because I enjoy it, but I'm completely incapable of faith.

Yes, I am. I'm somewhat of an apathetic and explorer. I live around the vast majority of Christians and don't bother saying I'm one. However, due to my apathy, they usually say, especially my family, have a relationship with God or he will let bad things come upon you, then you will turn to him for forgiveness, worship, and praise, because tomorrow isn't promised for you. So, it makes me come to the conclusion that they approve of a relationship where a father beats on his wife, if he knew he left her, just to put her in line. Whatever.
