*sigh* One can still love animals and also eat them..... Stop being a drama queen

I like BDSM. Do you? Have questions about it? I like to answer them!

Prop 8 is a disgusting display of ignorance, bigotry, and hate. It should never have made it as far as it has. Did you vote for it? You are a disgusting, hate mongering bigot.

Not this s**t again....

Okay, firstly not all meat is reared, produced and slaughtered in the same way.
Personally, I only eat meat if I know the farm it comes from, and I know that the livestock lived a good, healthy life and was slaughtered as humanely as possible.
It isn't that hard to find free-range, organically reared meat.

The fact that I buy free-range, organic, locally farmed animal products means that I am supporting those kinds of farmers, and am therefore supporting the welfare of livestock by helping to fund the positive side of the industry.
If you don't buy any animal products, you are not helping to support organic, free-range farming, and humane treatment of livestock.

So basically, I support animal wellfare by buying meat more than vegetarians do by doing nothing.

Good farmer can say for you lieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
This farm is too "great" for markets ? yes. they are. But why we will killing animals only for food?

neutral Guess what.

McDonalds is a rare case.
They don't care for the animals, and they don't care for the customers. They let the animals fall sick, don't deal with the meat correctly, and generally ******** up all around.

The only ******** animal that suffers is whatever they put in veal.

I'd love to eat my brother for dinner.
But that man b***h tastes like rotten potatoes. neutral He's not very tasty.

I'd love to see you confront a cannibal.
Now get out of here, you damn hippy. While I eat some delicious, succulent MEAT.

Could you go b***h and moan somewhere else? Honestly, most people aren't gonna change on their eating habits, it's too much of a nuisance. Sorta like how if eco-cars come out with a fuel other than gasoline, willing to bet you most people wont change because it's too much of a hassle.

Okay, it's kind of hard to work out what you're saying, but from what I can make out, you think farmers are lying about the standard of living for their livestock?
Most of these types of farms are open for visitors. People have eyes in their head.
Not to mention that it's illegal to lie about the type of farming you do, and all farms are inspected regularly to ensure that they are up to standard.

I don't understand what you mean by "too great for markets". I buy all of my meat from the local farmers' market, or directly from the farms themselves.
Or are you talking about supermarkets? You can get free-range animal products in supermarkets too, if you trust the source.

There's no reason why everyone can't do the same if they really are concerned about the origins of their meat.

And we kill animals for food because they taste good. They are slaughtered humanely, there is minimal pain and suffering, usually none at all.

* sigh
I'm what some people might call a flexatrian. I mostly eat chicken and turkey. I was a vegetarian for a long time, but as I got older, the concept seemed physiologically unsound to me. I
Let me explain a few things about the human body.
The Mouth:
Humans have a verity of teeth that allow us to be omnivorous. (that means eating both plants and meat.) Our incisors allow us to tear at our food like a carnivore and our molars allow us to grind things like an herbivore.
Muscle Function:
Humans need protein to support muscle and brain function. In fact a little cholesterol is good for the brain. Your body needs the good cholesterol (HDL) to prevent heart disease and strokes. While neither is a concern for a vegetarian with a well balanced diet it is much harder to keep a balanced diet of fats, proteins, as well as fruits and vegetables. I know many vegetarians that do not eat healthy enough.
Iron and Other Necessary Metals:
Believe it or not your body needs certain metals to keep it running properly. One of them is Iron. with out proper levels of iron your body will have issues.
-extreme exhaustion
-cravings for non-foods like salt (your body is craving the iodine as an iron substitute)
-digestive upset (your body will absorb other heavy metals to try and supplement what iron is present)
-Gum disease
-Decreased sense of taste and smell.
I know there are supplements available to avoid the issue, but why not just eat some meat. I eat some red meat when my iron is getting low. One meatball sub will not hurt you.

Not to mention in this country the slaughtering methods look gruesome, but they are far more humane then the way it is done elsewhere in the world. (I'm in the US) As long as the breeding, life, and slaughter are as humane as possible I feel very little guilt. Eating meat is part of the body's natural process.

Dumb a**...this is how the food chain works....and has always worked...and always will work. The ones on top kill and eat the lesser ones. All the "pain and suffering" is of no concern to hungry humans who breed animals just for the purpose of eating them. Would you rather us eat you instead???? I think not, so shut up.
