Just because they're going in there and looking around doesn't mean they're going to start trying on/buying thongs and skimpy outfits, etc.
Victoria's Secret sells more than just skimpy things.

I am aware but I am talking about the skimpy things and they were actually buying them, not just looking.
I don't even mind the thongs its the corsets and lace.

excuse me???
thongs are way more discusting and sexual then corsets and lace...

More than a few twelve year olds are sexually active.

More than a few twelve year olds have parents that don't care.

They look young, but they're not stupid. It's easier that most people realize to fool someone when you're that age. Things can come to you quite easily and effortlessly.

I say if they want to wear skimpy lingerie, let them. It's not anyone else's issue. Furthermore it's not surpising in our society. We market sexuality. Of course kids are going to want to get in on it. Plus, most of those "twelve" year olds go in for the Pink stuff, the fragrances, the lip gloss, and perhaps the occasional well made bra. I mean. If you're pubescent you're going to need one- why not get one that is made well? Denying kids the access to this stuff isn't going to solve much. They're going to find other ways to get it or they're going to have whatever sex they've been having anyway.

Except that it is illegal for them to have sex, and it is dangerous for them to become pregnant. It is illegal for a reason.

Until it is not illegal, it is in fact anyone else's issue.

Also, it may be easy to fool people at that age, but I would contest that it is easier to be fooled and manipulated. I believe that there are probably very mature 12 year olds out there, but it seems unlikely that they make up the majority of the ones who have sex. In general, 12 year olds who are having sex are being taken advantage of and should be protected.

Underware is underware, and sex is alluring, but if 12 year olds are having sex or are in sexual relationships, they need help.

I agree with you!

I've heard a rumor in my school that a grade seven girl is pregnant, and I hope it's not true. I'm fourteen and can't imagine having a child untill I am at least 25. Heck, I can't even imagine having sex!

I think we are introducing sex to kids at way to young of an age. For a grade six student to know how to do it... it's wrong!

Also, I started wearing a bra in grade 5, just so I would get used to having to the rest of my life. I was mad fun of, a bit, because I had to boobs, but I think it was good to be wearing one because it made me feel more grown up.

If 12 year old girls are getting VS underwear, I say they are freakin' rich! They are going to grow out of them in time, so they could just get a cheaper kind. But if the child is really busty, I say it's good to have the right support! mrgreen

The family underwear shopping thing, though... I am deeply disturbed. crying
OMGOSH what the !!
It's a maturity thing. Lingerie has always been associated with sex which is something people do when they're mature. So by buying lingerie they feel more mature. Which they're not.

I know that whenever I go into places like La Senza (our equivalent of Victoria Secret) I always see a couple stereotypes:
a)The single mom trying to look sexy but always walks out with nothing because she has zero self esteem. (always depressing.)
b)The overweight woman also looking for something to make her feel better about herself and not finding it.
c)The twenty year old shopping with her boyfriend. (enough said)
d)The people who are actually there to buy things because they want/need them.

Ugh I went in there once and there was a mother picking out some really skimpy items for her daughter who looked about 13 and she looked so embarrassed. I felt horrible. I think that buying that sort of thing at that age is a new and tough experience that mothers shouldn't impede on.

I must say, I do love Victoria Secret though. I went in when I was in Florida and it was fantastic, La Senza isn't quite up to par.

THE TOPIC: 12 YEARS SHOULDN'T BE WEARING SEXY LINGERIE---BRAS ARE NOT INCLUDED.

Though 12 year olds are having sex that's because most parents fail to talk to their kids about sex, how it works, how it feels, the emotions, relationships,---really important s**t, before it all happens.

For some reason parents are little kids when it comes to that topic and leave it to public schools to teach us what privates look like while missing everything else.
The most they do is sign a permission slip for the Sex Ed when that should be the 2nd red flag by then to talk about it.

It's very illegal for an 18 year old to be touching a 12 year old but when both a 12 year old and [insert any other age under 18 or whatever your state requires] have sex it is not illegal.

The only problem is that when your that age you don't understand sex or relationships well, kids don't have enough critical thinking at that point in their lives to understand it.

AT THAT AGE THE NEXT THING YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO DO IS GET MARRIED SINCE YOU'RE DATING.
At that age you can't think maturely.

For some reason in middle school the world's going to end if you don't sleep with your smelly, greasy 14 year old boyfriend to prove you love them or whatever. Some idiotic drama that took place when you were your stupidest and most needy. The most impressive thing you can do is have sex when you're that old then you get to be college age and you realize no one cares but you. You're not in the baby pen with people you've been in school with since 2nd grade so it doesn't matter anymore and you're a total fool for caring.

I don't know anyone that hasn't felt pressured in middle school and high school, especially in middle school.

ANYWAYS THE TOPIC:

Again what the hell does a 12 year old have to feel sexy about?
Parents need to start getting a backbone seriously.

*shrug* Sometimes you need those sorts of clothes. Thongs? If you're in some sort of performing art that requires you to wear tighter clothing or leggings, not even a tweenie wants to show panty line. I'm sure you wouldn't like to see it. lol XD

I am not talking about thongs here as I have said multiple times in this thread, nor am I talking about the pink stuff, normal bras, lotions and all that jazz I am talking strictly about the corsets, bustiers, and all that other lacy s**t made for adults. 12 year olds are far from age of consent also precocious sexual activity shows trait to a conduct disorder which is actually a problem.

Because this is turning into more of an emotional thing not a style discussion I am moving this to the lifestyle discussion forum.
I had a B cup when I was 12. I developed super-early?
But I didn't go shopping in those types of stores. I got my mom to buy me my bras...
I was twelve, how would I know what to do?!

I don't think kids that young should be shopping there, but, we can't exactly put an age limit on something like that.

They may not have been 12 anyway. Some girls I know who're older than me still look like they're prepubesant.
I think the question here is why was twiggy watching 12 year olds try on skimpy lingerie...

wink
It's sad to see how woman are today. With all the high tech. things, woman are being turned into a product. Turn on the TV anytime you want and you'll see a gorgeous, perfect woman on a commercial.

Girls today are wanted to look and act mature at such a young age, probably because of all the pornstars out there and making girls feel like they have to look like a supermodel.
Frankly, I'm not surprised that 12 yr olds are acting that way. Just look at their role models: Paris, Brittany, Lindsay...all skanks IMHO. Too bad our society has bred this stereotype of "sexy girl" thing to this extreme. They should NOT be in there for a few more years.
Disgusted,
Personally, I don't like going into Victoria's Secret period

1.) I don't want to search my bra size with other people around (including mom)
2.) some of there stuff you can find at a JCpenney's
3.) MEN are in there...how can you be comfortbale trying on or buying bras when MEN are in there and not just old men...teenagers..that's embarassing

so yeah that is why I don't go in there.

that's kind of gross about lingerie for twelve year olds =/ i wouldn't mind if they were getting clothes, or normal bras with out padding no push up bras or anything xP but nothing kinky that says i'm having or going to have sex
i get all my bras and like minded items from H&M, everything costs wayyy less, fits better and its just in general prettier.
but ive seen 12 year olds in Victoria's Secret too. its gross.
12 year olds GTFO VICTORIA'S SECRET! scream

They probably want to feel "grown up" or they do for the thrill they know they're not supposed to wearing lingerie and they buy it anyway.

The girls are like that in my brothers school, they wear more makeup, have higher heels than most of the girls that are in my high school. It looks so odd on them, beacuse they still look like kids.
