There's this problem with my friend's mom, she goes on criticizing everything my friend does, and now she goes like "It's because you're so lazy..." and everything. What should I tell my friend?

Best I can say is your friend need to sit down and talk with the mother. Me and my mother had something like that, not exactly, but our relationship was not great by any means. It helped when i sat down and talked to her about it. Of course I did it pretty late, and now I am dealing with some emotional and mental scarring and problems, that I am trying to correct. Doesn't mean everyone will end up like me though haha.

Give your friend the courage to stand up to their mom, tell them to confront her and ask her to stop putting them down all the time. Get them to tell her their feelings, that it's hurting them quite a lot.

Well it is pretty mean for a mom to do so, but maybe she is just trying to tell her daughter not to stick with such mediocrity in her performance?

Parents do that all the time. It's really no big deal. When your friend moves out, they won't ever have to deal with that crap ever again.

Tell your friend some positive stuff. It keeps your relationship on a good level with that person.
