If you're pregnant then it means you're going to have a baby. Hope you plan on keeping your "boyfriend" forever, because it can happen. And, sorry, but this actually IS a WHAT SHOULD I DOOOO thread, there is a chance of failure even when taking the pill.
Congratulations of stating the obvious on what would happen if I was pregnant.
My boyfriend and I have been together for over two years, we have discussed the possibility of this happening and have worked out what we would do.

I am merely asking for good brands of pregnancy tests until we can go to the Doctor's about it, and if any of the people deigning to answer have been pregnant and what their experiences are within their early first trimester.
Maybe read everything I have said before judging me thank you.

Another fact: All pregnancies are different. They don't always have the same symptom at the same time. That is if you are pregnant and not know it yet. Oh and as for the brands of pee sticks. All are effective. No name brands are just as good. So this is basically a silly question as well.

I know all pregnancies are different which is why I'm asking, I like to see the difference.
And as far as the "pee" sticks go I know somebody who had one telling her she was pregnant and another telling her she wasn't, which is why I asked.

I am perfectly allowed to ask these questions and none of them are silly.

Get off your high horse please.

It isnt unprotected sex if you were on the pill..

There is no 'bad' brand, just get a few just in case and have a go at it.

You are a complete and utter ******** moron- just because you just said the following

"It isn't unprotected sex if you were on the pill.."

Fact: Sexual contact without a condom while on B/C is considered unprotected sex because phyiscally there is always a risk of pregnancy WITHOUT PROPER USE OF A CONDOM/FEMALECONDOM/SPONGE/SPERMICIDE ETC. It doesn't matter what brand you use. But then again you're probably the retarded type to believe everything you see on television- so if you are this mental, you probably shouldn't try to hand out advice.

To the girl who posted this topic.
Many girls/women find themselves pregnant by having unprotected sex without proper protection. So they naturally face pregnancy, STD's/STI's HIV/AIDS. (Not saying your boyfriend has any of these. But still, a potential risk no matter what anyone chooses to believe. Unprotected sex is unprotected sex. ) You shouldn't even be posting on here if you're afraid of getting pregnant, especially if you're young and not in a stable relationship.

You should be talking to a doctor at a local clinic or sexual health clinic because they deal with these kinds of things 100% of the time.

You had the right idea about getting on B/C when you decided to become sexually active- but you are very foolish to think that it is perfectly safe to be on the pill and not use any other resource of sexual protection. Go to your doctor and be smart about this.

S
Dude, what? Why would anyone take the pill for birth control if it wasn't a contraceptive against pregnancy?
Protected sex is any sex protected by a barrier method, hormonal method, implant, IUD, or sterilization.

Well obviously you really dont know the methods of protected sex. Because even though you take a pill there is still a high chance of pregnancy. Which is my someone in my field of work, will tell you that using a condom and using other methods of birth control with most likely help you prevent pregnancy. Just because you use the pill doesn't always mean you wont get pregnant. Otherwise she'd not be in this mess of thinking it's perfectly safe and protected just because she takes a little pill doesn't mean there isn't chance. Not only do we ask that girls who decide to become sexually active practice safe sex, which means condoms and other birth control methods, it is to stop the spread of STD's and STI's which are becoming more and more common every day. So, yes, I can say that using more than just the pill would be the better idea. Enough said.

Oh, so why not go to an actual clinic. Instead of making excuses of the wait time and taking a test. www.babycenter.com www.itsyoursexlife.org

You want answers, you're getting those answers. So either shut up and take it or keep your legs closed for the mean time.

Sorry to say dear, I see this more and more every day at work. If doctor or sexual health nurse didn't explain your prescription to you clearly, you could have asked these questions then. Not to mention if you look in your local phonebook, there are health lines you can call where you can talk to a sexual health advocate who will ask you questions.

No high horse required when it comes to being blunt.

Voodoo? Tell me it is not medical. If it is, please allow me to know where you work and for whom so I can alert them that they have someone spreading misinformation rampantly to young women on the internet. If you are so wise, I'm sure you would have no problem with me copying what you have said here and e-mailing it to your superiors.

Thank you Captain Obvious.

Yes, funny, the little box the pill comes in does indeed say it has a failure rate, and then it says it again inside the box, and on the prescription receipt, and on the website, and in the magazine adds, and in the commercials. But how is it NOT a reliable contraception just because it's not 100%? Nothing is, as I recall, not even sterilization of both partners with the use of a condom. Does that mean I'm still having unprotected sex? Isn't the act of sex then unprotected?
Quote:
Otherwise she'd not be in this mess of thinking it's perfectly safe and protected just because she takes a little pill doesn't mean there isn't chance.
Protected. I don't think it means what you think it means. Even the shitty female condom counts as protection. Even the shitty sponge counts as protection. Is it the best protection? No, but that doesn't mean she was unprotected.

Which is why you get tested. You should be doing this even with condoms. If you bth come back clean, then there is no reason to unduly worry about them. My own Gynecologist is less concerned than you, and I would bet good money no matter what your "profession" is, she has more experience than you. You needn't talk to people like they're stupid, which is what you're doing. I hope it didn't take you years and years of higher education (which I would bet you haven't finished) to learn what a ******** free leaflet delivered in the mail could have told any half-wit.

Better, sure. Not totally necessary and unprotected otherwise? No.

Enough said.
Indeed. enough to know I wouldn't trust you with my health. Oh please don't be in the health field with that snotty attitude and freakish "C's get degrees" look about you.

Were you on ANY medication during this time WHILE taking birth control?
A lot of medications, including all antibiotics will render birth control useless. (That's how my mother got pregnant with my older sister..)

Don't push of taking a pregnancy test. Most are the same, you can also ask a pharmacist for assistance picking one out if your indecisive.
A couple weeks after impregnation, you may have some morning sickness. But, every person's body reacts differently to pregnancy and you may not receive the typical symptoms.
Anesthesia_PROLIFIC

@Amor Sempiternus It'll be a while before I can actually go to the doctors so at the moment until I can make that possible I at least want a little bit of an idea on whether I am or not until I get that chance.

C:
Planned Parenthood main page has on the right hand side of the screen a location finder. They can hook you up with pregnancy tests on a sliding income scale.

There is always a risk of pregnancy WITH proper use of a condom/female condom/sponge/spermicide, you dumbshit. Whether or not sex is considered protected or unprotected is not based on the risk of pregnancy, because there is always a risk of pregnancy.

Birth control pills are contraceptives. Contraceptives are protection. If you are using birth control pills, you are having protected sex, regardless of whether or not you use a condom.

You are a complete asshat. Please ensure, next time, that you know what you're ******** talking about before you go spouting off at the mouth like that.

When was the first day of your last period?

I used ANSWER brand, the "three for the price of two" box, since I always end up pissing on my hand and end up wasting the test... I knew I was pregnant, but did not test positive for several days, almost a week after my missed period.

I have no idea how many times I have explained, quite clearly, that getting to a Doctor's is virtually impossible in the town I live in.

You have to book months in advance to get to the Doctor's, and we don't have any little clinics to go to.
Which is why I am taking a pregnancy test and going off the results of that until a space opens up.
I really don't see the problem in that and yes you were on a high horse, making assumptions about my life and the reasons behind what I was asking, your being "blunt" was not helpful at all.

Also, when did I say I was using the "wait" period at all?
I have used the wait period and simply asking what other people's experiences were, once again, I fail to see the problem with that.
