I don't think it should be abolished, although the point of it has greatly change. It is not necessary, however it does give a greater reassurance of commitment. I mean come on, many guys and girls just want to "hit it and quit it". So one person will get screwed while the other could careless. Now if someone wants to marry you, then that is a promise to be with you until death. (although I know there is divorce and infidelity but if two people are truly in love then marriage has a point)

In my own perspective, I am not always after "One Thing." I have been with my Girlfriend for six months, there times where I will make and advance, and they are times where she will tackle me. Yeah my ex cheated on me, when I was feeling really depressed and so my mum took me on a holiday. I checked facebook to see if she was okay to find myself deleted, and her relationship status changed to this other guy. [We had been having sex but that was never consider our main point I just saw it as an extra.]

Hope I don't cross any lines by saying this.. What a ho... That just ain't even cool. Cheating is probally the worst thing to do in a realtionship and a thought like that has NEVER EVER crossed my mind. I find it extremly F.U.B.A.R.
With her, it seems like to be one of those, "******** you, Im out, Hope you get AIDS." Type of deal.. Ok, but maybe not to that extreme. And like you said, you are sixteen (( Coming from someone who is seventeen themselfs. XD )) And you still have so much time to find someone who will be there.
