And I want things to change, but I don't know how. I'm taking a short course, and I'm already procrastinating on doing the memorizing bit.

How do I memorize things quickly? Please share with me your tips and tricks.

It depends on what kind of memory you have. I memorise best by just saying it over and over again - starting with the first word/definition/line and then adding on one more until I can repeat them all one after the other.

Some people respond better to visual cues so they highlight things and just continue to look at it, some make up rhymes, etc. It's all about learning how you learn best. Google some learning style quizzes, it might help point you in the right direction.

Summarize notes, use your imagination, try to link the things you need to memorize to familiar concepts. Make links wherever you can. Rewrite things that you need to remember. Google search memory tips and you'll find these things by the bucketload, but when it comes down to it you're going to have to decide if you really want to change or not. It's going to be hard work, and you are going to have to put in a legitimate effort if you want to make a difference.

Find key words and their definitions and then either make flash cards or re-write.

write the word, try to write the definition by memory.. if you cant-look at the definition.. think about what it means in your own words and then try again.

Once youve done this successfully write out all the words again and try to define them by memory.. again..

weed out the words you know off by heart and focus on the ones you're having trouble with.

how i do it is i read al the info and write it down but i write down the most imoirntqnt things and put like a whole topic on 1 piece of paper all neat and tidy and in a place easier to remember. like dnt write sentences and shorten your own words to cram it all on there. then you must answer questions maybie there will be some in a info book if you have one
