Ask him point blank what the heck is up with him. Tell him you thought you would try other things since he has been so flirty with you. It's been my experience that most guys don't know what they're doing. Like Jeff Foxworthy said, guys are thinking "I'd like a beer, an' I'd like to see sum'n nekked". They're simple, really. And dense. So often what girls take for flirting or "signals", the guy isn't even aware of until the girl acts on it. Then "we're just friends" pops out, because that's what he was thinking all along.

Honestly, the only sure-fire way to tell if a guy likes you or not is to just ask him. Reading into "signals" is just a waste of time and energy.

I always play around with my friends, playing with their hair, have them to sit in my lap, giving them massage and so on.. because I like to be close to my friends. It doesn't have to mean anything else. But we know where we have each other. I wouldn't do the same thing with a person who doesn't know anything about it.
