He is the one person in the world I could ever say I love. He used to cut his wrists, and so did I. We both promised to stop for eachother. I used to do it for random reasons, always different, and he used to do it because his parents used to treat him like he is five, or lying to eachother about him.

His dad recently saw twenty to thirty someodd scars that are left, and asked about it. My lover told him that it was from the sais at karate... and his dad believed him.

He thinks the only non-verbal way he can tell his parents is for there to be fresh cuts on his arms. He as well can not talk to many people. Which is why we have eachother.

His dad is the one who made the last bout go anyways... His dad downloaded porn, and his mom found it on the cookies. His dad blamed it on him, and his mom believed his dad. My lover wouldnt download porn. He isnt a visual person, he is more likely to go down town and pick up a hooker!

What do I do to stop him? I words dont help! Not even describing how much I love him works! He said romantic things about feeling the same way, but said he has to!

This might sound mean, but it might work. You should say "Every time you cut is one hug/kiss that you'll never get from me." If he really loves you it'll sink in.

I have a cousin who cuts and I didn't know what to do. I got really worried about him because he would slit his wrists and he sometimes talked about commiting suicide even. I eventually just told all of this to a counsellor. I didn't know what else to do. His parents would probably be furious.

There really isn't anything you can do, unless you get someone else involved. However, if he doesn't want help, he probably is just going to react badly.

Especially because cutting is a sign of a lack of the ability to effectively regulate emotions. Which means, if you bring a responsible adult into the picture, he'll most likely be angry at you, and take even more desperate action.

However, if you think that he's willing to get treatment, find a responsible adult that will help you confront him. They can help to get this friend into therapy to work out his issues, help give him the tools to regulate his emotions.

I've never understood how injuring oneself can possibly make things better. If his parents knew he was intentionally hurting himself, they would chill out. And if they wouldn't, and you're sure about that, then tell some other trusted/helpful adult. It's all you can do.

Periodically, I will call him when mon amigo Amanda is over, and we will both talk to him on the phone. He doesnt really like Amanda, but that is okay, he stays on the phone to talk to me. One day she was over, and Amanda was talking to my step sister, because the three of us are good friends, and they were both on a phone. He asked if he could talk to me alone, and asked for my permission to cut himself ((that is really sweet, because I made him promise to stop a few weeks before)), and this is when we thought Amanda wasn't talking on the phone. HOWEVER she had it on mute! Our phone is crazy, and when you press the mute button, you can hear the phone conversation, but they can't hear you. He USUALLY wouldn't ask her to go away, but this time he NEEDED her to. So now she knows. She was talking to my sister about how "******** up" he is! AND honestly, she didn't say that about me when she found out I used to! When I told her I used to, she said she used to carve words into her hands, and now she has said it is "******** up" and she said she would never ever do "something SO stupid"!!!!!!!!!!!
BAHA! Now Amanda is going to tell my lovers cousin, and things will be very ******** up! Now I REALLY dont know what to do!

Cutting yourself isn't idiotic, it is an expression of emotion, freedom of living, a kenetic or visual of emotional pain or numbness, self punishment for... being yourself. I used to be one of those "idiots" as you would say. If you cut too, well, you would see how un idiotic it is.

I dont know what to do for him... I suppose I could be there, but um... Somehow that doesnt feel like enough...
