H1N1 shot.

So next week I might have the opportunity to get the H1N1 shot, but I've heard a lot of bad things about it. I'm having trouble deciding what I should do.

Have any of you gotten it and did anything go wrong? Is it really gonna be worth it?

I just got over a flu (not sure if it was H1N1 or just a normal flu), but it wasn't that bad. And I don't think the Swine flu is really all lthat bad anyway. You just gotta stay home and take care of yourself, just like any other flu neutral

Are you on the high-risk category? High risk would be having an underlying condition like heart disease, AIDS, asthma, ect, being pregnant, working around (or having I think) children too young to have the shot, working with the elderly, working in the medical field, um...I forgot the other risks. Hold on.

I for one would definitely not get the H1N1 vaccine because they rushed to develop it and don't know its possible long-term effects. Half of one of the people in one of my classes has had H1N1 flu and I haven't gotten it yet, so I'm not too afraid anyway.

If you have a compromised immune system then yes you should get it. If you are a normal human being you don't need it. H1N1 is the flu. Just another mutated strain. 44% of the high school in my town has it and no one has died from it because, guess what? if you seek medical attention in a reasonable amount of time you'll be fine. If you don't, the normal flu or a bad cold would have done the same thing and killed you.



Everyone worries about vaccines and in all honesty they have to be tested for YEARS before they are released. They can not mass release a vaccine that has not been tested. Especially on a disease that is not a pandemic.

Well I got the shot, but I knew nothing about all the controversy around it. Personally nothing bad has happened to me at all, or my sister who also got it.
So its your choice really.

I had H1N1 during late May (and during my highschool graduation =/) and I didn't know until I went to the doctor after my "common" flu symptoms went away.

If you're a healthy person with good hygiene and no underlying health problems/diseases, it's best not to get the shot if you are afraid of the risks that come with it.

I personally wouldn't get it even if I have the chance to get H1N1 again because it was honestly not as bad as they make it sound.

...********. Seriously. Flu season is almost over. If you get the shot now, all you're going to do is force yourself to get another one next year.

I heard the shot has way too much mercury than it needs. Of course I could be wrong I just heard this from a friend =P
Since I heard that H1N1 isn't as scary as people think it is. Of course I could be wrong again =P

Actually she's not faking at all. I know someone with the same problem as her, but they didn't obtain it from getting a flu shot.

It's totally upto you if you want the shot, I got a flu shot a few weeks ago and I'm fine, feel a bit rubbish but then I always do.
