xhe loved an a n g e l I just want to know...why do I want one all of the sudden? The scenario you described with the child is likely your only experience caring for a child. She sounds like a child that is easy to take care of, and it is certainly a possibility that you will have a perfect child. However, it is also a possibility that you will have a vegetable baby with down syndrome and only two working limbs, confined to a wheelchair with an IQ <80. But you don't want a child. Having one, and raising it is not all burnt-pancake breakfasts. There is cleaning s**t out of it's diaper, resisting the urge to slam its head into the wall every time it starts crying, and other s**t that I can't think of. What you want is to take care of a child for two weeks and have a great time, in a non-***** way. And you got that. I think that you should offer to babysit. It sounds like a good choice for you. |

I was the same way. All through high school, I raved about how much I didn't like children. Then I started working at a daycare center with two-year-olds. Now I can't wait to have a kid of my own. No time soon, of course, but I guess the motherly instincts have been awakened. So you're not alone. Just be responsible about it smile

I'm a sixteen-year-old girl and I want a kid too. But I spent my childhood - my little kid stage, anyway - hating kids. I told my mother over and over that if she had another kid I'd move out to the back portch and live in a tent. Now, however, I look at children and I know that when I'm an adult I want to have one. Or two.

Or two. I feel you on this. Probably teenage hormones or whatnot, but having a family is suddenly very important to me. Not right now, of course. I would suggest to anyone that feels this way to think it through and be sure you're ready to accept the responsibility that comes with parenthood. |

What amuses me is the amount of times she said that she isn't going to have one right away and yet people keep telling her to wait.
People change their minds, I'm 24, some days I want children, others I don't, I'm 70% no, 30% yes as it stands, tomorrow it may be 100% no, who knows. Hormones and seeing the positive side of parenting could be behind your decision that you want a child, of course the question is, in the future, could you handle dirty nappies and sleepless nights? |
