Confusing Girl Issues

So, this girl i like (A) and I were going to go to the dance, but i doubt she can go now.. Well, that completely ruined my plan to ask her out during a slow song.

Well, i told my friend (B) about this, and we talked about it. The next day, A's best friend (C) magically hears about this and starts asking me if i like B and stuff. I know for a fact that if i tell C, that she'll tell A, and that'll completely ruin it, whenever i decide to ask her out (Which is a problem in its own.) i want it too be a surprise, you know?

Well, i want to know what i should do. Should i tell C I like A, despite the fact that A will inevitably know? Any other help would be nice. Its a big confusing mess, xD

EDIT: Also, C just said that A said it would be weird, because of how good friends we are. So, um.. That just about means no, right? Im pretty sure it does.

MORE EDIT: Actually, C just clarified, saying that A would say yes, but it would be weird. So, i guess that now im back at square one, eh?

Stop talking about ruining it and random times to ask her out. Want to ask out A? Just go and do it. Fixes the whole issue of who knows what and you wont KNOW if it is a no until you do.

I know you're looking for a good time to ask her, but it kinda sounds like since your intricate plot seems to be falling through, why not just go for it? ESPECIALLY since it also sounds like all the folks who know you already know, wouldn't it be better for her to hear it from you?
