Due to a recent trend among sales of specific Alchemy formulas, we felt it necessary to clarify our position on soulbound items. The short and sweet version is this, you are NOT allowed to try and sell soulbound items nor are you allowed to try and sell the "rights" to said items.
The more detailed version is this; under no circumstances are you allowed to offer to trade an item or the "rights" to said item if the item is soulbound to your account. As far as Gaia Online items go, if you cannot put the item into a trade or sell it on the Marketplace then you are not allowed to attempt to sell it in any form. As mentioned in the Terms of Service, Gaia Online retains all rights to any and all items and gold on Gaia Online and attempting to sell the rights to an item is in violation of this term.
Further, not being able to move the item from your account or reimburse the potential buyer in the event something happened to the item on your account, allows for a large potential for scamming and illegitimate trades between accounts. As such, we're disallowing the practice completely. Anyone found to be attempting sales of this kind will first have their thread removed and receive education on why it is not allowed. Further violations of this type will result in increasing penalties, up to and including a ban from the website.
