Well, I'm not from Hawai'i but I have been there a couple of times. to the Big Island, to Maui, and to Molokai, which was probably my favorite, although being onthe volcanoes (this was as a kid in the seventies) was also massively awesome, as was travelling with one of my Dad's co-workers who was of Hawai'ian descent. He sweet-talked some sugar-cane harvesters into giving me a piece of fresh from the machete cane. That was awesome for a little seven year old.

@ Ladygaura: really? I don't think there are too many plantations nowdays gonk you're lucky you got to visit one. I live in the city so I barely get to go and look around the farmlands >_< I act all tourist-y when I do go XD

I use to live in Hawaii ^^ - for about 6 months. My Dad's in the navy and stationed in Pearl Harbor.


I liked living there. People were nice, although I did notice a slight hostility between actual island natives and white/other ethniticy folk. Not that I blame them though : / - The white man did barge in and take over their land, when they had a perfectly capable goverment running already.


I liked being on the Big Island a lot better then Oahu though.

How long have you lived in Oahu?


I love visiting Honolulu/Wakkiki and when my friends came from the Main Land, we partied for a week down there xD - but I do love to get away from it all too. The only thing I had to complain about Hawaii was the TRAFFIC. Getting off and on the base, and moving around the cities was such a b***h. I hated that tourists would rent cars, and then only use them to get from one end of Waikiki to the other.

It was nice to go adventure in the jungles on some of the other islands ^^

What's your favorite part on O'ahu? What's your favorite thing about living there?

The vally of the temples was the most awesomest place in the world ^^ - some of the other tourist sites were really cheesy though, lol. I remember when we took family and friends to the PCC and the Dole Plantation - the PCC was okay, me and my friends had fun joining in with everything, but the older grownups in our family were like "THISISCHEESYANDTOOCROWDED!" - the Dole Plantation was so incredibly lame it cracked me up. That little choo-choo and you could "wave" to all the "workers in the feild" that were wood cutouts xD.....my Dad commented that he loved how labor got done there, make the tourists belive planting pineapples is fun and have them do all the work.


Maww, I hope I'm not offending your homeland ^^ - other then some of the cheesy tourist stuff, the island is wonderful.
