            xxx JEZEBEL NICOLE FRAY

            NICKNAMES jez or fray.
            AGE seventeen.
            BIRTHDAY october ninth.
            GENDER female.
            SEXUALITY heterosexual.
            FACTION amity born.
HISTORY Jez is born and raised Amity. The Fraction that does not believe in war and only wants peace. Growing up, she didn't really understand how there could be peace all the time. You couldn't just go about life getting alone with people on a constant level. Any time she wanted something you'd have to talk it out and resolve it in a peaceful way, but really on the inside she always felt anger for having to just talk things out. She was always the one that kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. Arguing about some things or off exploring somewhere. Doing something that would usually get her into trouble. Jez's personality is what sets her apart from her family. She loves adventure and doing new things. She'd a very independent person and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Though she does have a caring and compassionate side, she's not afraid to tell you how it is, even if that might get her into trouble. When the choosing ceremony comes, she already knows where she wants to go. She's known for a long time now.

            xxx VICTOR JAMES CLARK

            NICKNAMES vic or v.
            AGE seventeen.
            BIRTHDAY march third.
            GENDER male.
            SEXUALITY heterosexual.
            FACTION dauntless born.
HISTORY Victor was born into Dauntless, and raised in Dauntless by his mother and father - a father who was also Dauntless born and a mother who was a Erudite transfer. Most of his life, he believed he was always going to be a Dauntless and he was going to work and train hard to be the faction member they wanted him to be, but there were things and certain life events that sparked natural curiosity. He began sneaking books from other factions, and he started pursuing the real reason of why they're kept inside tall electric fences. Electric fences aren't meant for keeping people out - they're meant for keep animals in. Despite growing up in Dauntless, his tests revealed something more... dangerous. The choosing ceremony is fast approaching, and all he knows is that the home is where the heart is. There isn't a choice. He was told he was Dauntless, and that's what he'll remain until he can get out beyond those locked gates.

Today was the day. Jez's whole life would be changing. She would choose which fraction she would get to be apart of for the rest of her life. Amity, where she was born and raised? Abnegation, where they were selfless? Candor, where they were honest and truthful? Dauntless, where they were brave and courageous? Erudite, where they were intelligent and logical? It was a hard decision and she'd been thinking about it none stop since she'd had her test. Which had been confusing and terrifying all at the same time. How could one simple test tell you how you were going to live the rest of your life? How was that even possible? Had life always been like this. The fractions, the tests, the choosing where you would grow up and it happening over and over and over with each generation? Didn't that get boring? What was so terrible about going out beyond that fence that kept them locked in this torn down city? Nothing had ever attacked them. No people had ever come to their wall asking to be let in. It was all just so confusing and she was torn between choosing her family over something else.

"Jezebel, are you ready?" Her mother asked her. They were now standing in front of The Hub. She blinked a couple of times not even realizing that they had reached the place already. People were walking in groups, staying with their fractions. Teenagers looked terrified, a few that stood off to the side of her looked like they might actually pass out. While others were stoned faced and rigid. "Yeah. I'm ready." She said, after clearing her throat. Her mother squeezed her hand tightly. "No matter what you decide, we'll always love you. No matter what." Her mother said as she turned to face her and reached up tucking a stand of hair behind her ear, and Jez offered her a smile. "I know mother. I know." The two of them embraced each other for a moment and she felt her heart tug. Could she really leave her mother? After all the trouble she'd raised growing up, she should stay and take care of the women. She'd done so much for her, been there for her every time she'd needed her. She sighed softly and looked to her father who nodded his head and patted her shoulder. They stood there for a moment longer before they started for the door.

Of course they didn't get to far before the Dauntless came roaring in between the groups of people, screaming and shouting at each other. It was a good day, for all the fractions. Each would be getting new members to strengthen them, to help them grown and change. She watched them as they raced into the building. She couldn't help but wonder what it was like to be them. Being free, living the outer parts of the city. Getting to see things, do things that most other fractions didn't get to do. It was a deep secret that she hadn't ever told anyone, but one day Jez would like to live a day in each fraction and see what life was really like for them. Amity, they were always in the fields, growing things and talking with each other. They spent all their time outside being busy. She wanted what the other fractions did. Sure, she got to see them in passing, but couldn't help but wonder what it was like to live in that fraction. Just one day, that would be really neat to try out each and see what it was really like. Would be neat, but that secret she kept to herself. No one needed to know a thought like that. "Time to go inside now. Ladies first." Her father spoke, nudging her gently in the shoulder and they started to file into the building.

Jez came here every year. Watched countless teenagers decided where they would spend the rest of their life. They had even welcomed several new teens last year. A couple of them were made for this life, but another not so much. He'd been turned away for his violent natures. She'd felt bad for him. He'd screamed that this was where his test had put him, where he said he belonged. Obviously that test had been very very wrong. She followed her mother into the room, and up the steps to their seats. She let her father and mother go first then she sat on the end seat so she wouldn't have to fight people to get through and down the steps. Taking a small breath she reached up and ran her fingers through her loose hair and sighed softly. Her blue eyes darted all around the room watching families chatting quietly with the child they were possibly about to lose. She was starting to feel trapped all of a sudden, scared that she would make the wrong derision and be stuck doing something, somewhere that she just wasn't made out to be. It was scary and she was beyond nervous. The only thing that brought her out of her thoughts, was the room falling silent and one, strong male voice speaking out to them.

She listened half way. Catching small things here and there. She'd heard the story a million times, how after the war they were divided. Just like clock work the man spoke. ". . . They divided us into five fractions, and tried to eradicate the features they saw as responsible for the disruption of the world." The man paused for a moment glancing around the room, one fraction at a time. "Those who blamed aggression formed Amity." His eyes glance over her people, and she smiles to herself. "Those who blamed ignorance formed Erudite." She looked over that way, for a moment pondering what life for them was like. "Those who blame dishonesty became Candor." He said, with a proud smile. "Those who blamed selfishness became Abnegation." Her eyes slid to that group and she couldn't but wonder if she was selfless too. Or maybe not as much as she should be. "And finally, those who blamed cowardice became Dauntless." The man spoke and she looked at them. After that she tuned him out as he went on to talk about the rest of the world and how it came to be. Finally, they started to call people up one by one to choose the rest of their life.

location choosing ceremonyxxxx with all factionsxxxx wearing it's time

It was today. The day everything Victor ever knew could possibly change if his mind suddenly decided against the choice he had already made. The scenario played out in his head ever since the test yesterday, it played out all night and he knew by the time he reached the Hub it would have replayed again. It wasn't a hard choice, right? He was born Dauntless and he would remain Dauntless until he was old decrepit... but then on the other side of things he wondered what would happen if he were to choose Candor. Or Erudite. Truth, or intelligence. Maybe selflessness. No. He couldn't give up everything he believed in, even if it meant giving up his self doubt. Today was a day he needed to be brave and to show his faction that he was indeed dedicated to continuing the line.

He knew by the shouts of everyone around him that it was time to move - the short run to the train and then from the train to the Hub where all of their decisions would mean the rest of their lives. That, or be factionless. Or what others called dirt - those who didn't make it through initiation or didn't even choose. "Well Vic! Are you ready, son?" the man who towered over himself slapped his shoulder hard before dragging him into a crushing hug. It snapped him out of his thoughts while the train rocked and creaked against the overused tracks. With a slight nod and a step away from his dad, he looked between the worn out couple. "I'm so proud of you darling - no matter what your choice is... we'll always be here," his mother reached out and placed a hand over his heart soft, smiling to him before holding onto her husbands arm. Despite having made it through initiation, she was still a soft spoken women. She knew all the right things to say.

"Thanks mom, dad." his eyes shifted again between the both, "For everything. I think I know my choice." the edge of a smile pushed to his lips before it slowly disappeared as the shouts from others around him rang - signing it was time to jump. With a soft breath, his hand slammed against the button to open up the doors where he hung from the side of the train. His parents and a few others were the first to jump but he waited for the perfect moment to jump - rolling down the slight bank before getting to his feet quickly and charging to the door with the rest. Though he wasn't shouting like the others, today he was silent. The other factions were quick to pass by his eyes, but never did he let his eyes linger too long before they made their way into the building and to their designated section of seating.

Falling down to a seat, Vic stretched himself out and slung an arm around his mothers shoulders while giving her a slight smile and nod before his eyes focused ahead at the bowls across the front. The leaders were standing off to the side as one man in gray abnegation clothes quietly spoke to the group. As everyone settled, this gave Vic the perfect chance to scan the crowd - sometimes catching the curious eyes of others but most of the time only managing to get the back of others heads as they focused forward and waited for their chance to go. Though as his eyes drifted back towards the front of the room, he stopped his eyes on each bowl for a few minutes as the larger man, the stiff, came and spoke the same words he does every year. Each second he spent staring at a bowl he could see where he'd be in his mind - to hiding his tattoos and changing his hair to wearing such drab colors. Then it jumped to the positions he could possibly take. 'Lawyer? Tch. Sing along's? No. Just... no. Scientist? No. Sacrificing everything for others? No.' - his thoughts reeled on the negatives of each faction, but then the good of them came after. Even for Dauntless.

"Son... you're almost up. Snap out of it," the tight tone of his fathers voice snapped him out of his little moment - peering back for a moment before looking ahead. How had they gotten to the C's already? With a deep breath, Vic shifted so he was ready to stand quickly. He could hear his heart pounding away in his head, against his chest. He was so close to deciding his future, it all just depended on his name being called at any mo- "Victor Clark". There it was. All eyes turned towards him while Dauntless whooped and shouted as one of their own was about to decide on his fate. Standing up quickly, a smirk planted to his lips as he made his way down the steps and up to the bowls. Vic didn't hesitate to slice across the side of his palm so a small pool of blood formed in his palm. Once more, his eyes trailed over the bowls quickly before his arm shifted out as a hand hovered over burning coals. He could hear the sizzle of his blood hitting the rocks, but the roar of Dauntless behind him forced him to turn around and face his people.

With some steps forward, he was graciously brought into tight embraces and slaps on his shoulders and his back were the first to hit him before he was moved back to his seat. As the Dauntless settled, the man spoke up so the others could document. "Dauntless."

Person after person went, fractions cheered as they got new members. Families cried as they lost their children. It was sad, yet also exciting to see what people would decide upon. Not very many join Amity, but the people that did were welcomed with warm hugs and smiles and an around of applause. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like having them here as part of the fraction. If they would work out or if this hadn't really been what they thought it was going to be. "Pay attention, you're next." Her mother said, reaching over and squeezing her hands softly. "Jezebel Fray." She heard the man call her name and she felt her heart skip a few beats. It was finally her turn. Standing up slowly she flattened her dress and walked down the steps slowly, her fingers clasped together. Everyone's eyes were on her as she stepped down the stairs one at a time and up to the bowls that waited for her. Slowly she picked up the knife and looked down to each bowl.

Grey stones for Abnegation, Water for Erudite, Earth for Amity, Lit coals for Dauntless and Glass for Candor. Carefully she slid the knife over her palm until a small drop of blood swelled up. She looked down into each bowl, her hand sliding from one until the next. Until she felt like she had her hand over the right bowl, until something inside of her told her that this was where she was suppose to spend the rest of her life. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath and squeezed her hand until the drop of blood fell into the lit coals. She wasn't sure what was louder, her heart pounding in her ears or the roar of Dauntless as they gathered another new member. "Dauntless." The man spoke. Slowly, Jez turned away from the bowls and walked towards her new fraction. She wanted to look over and see her parents but she couldn't risk it. She knew that they would be proud of her for choosing what she had, but they were also going to miss her and she was going to miss them. It was definitely going to be a new change, but that was alright. She was ready for this. She was ready to accept her new fraction. This . . . This was were she belonged, where she wanted to be.

Before she knew it she was swallowed into a group of people patting her on the bag and cheering. She couldn't help but smile. Someone got up and offered their seat and moved towards the back. She sank down into the seat, crossing her legs and taking a breath. Her heart was still racing with the excitement of picking her new fraction. She glanced around at the people that she sat next to. Some of them were from other fractions, while a couple of them were here from this fraction and had decided to stay. The ceremony wasn't yet over so she looked back up as the next person was called up to decided their fate. Finally, they brought the choosing ceremony to a closing and everyone was dismissed. People stood in cheers with their new fraction. She couldn't help but cheer a little bit too. It was over. She'd decided. They all had. This is what the rest of her life was going to be like. She turned to glance over the large group of Dauntless and smiled to herself. Jez, couldn't wait to find out where they would be going from here. As the group started to file out of the room she followed them, glancing back only quickly to see her parents. Her mother was crying, but her father held a proud smile on his face and he nodded to her. She gave him a small smile then disappeared out the door with the rest of the Dauntless.

She had to run to catch up to them, but that was alright. She'd spent most of her child hood running from something or another. It was weird being outside, in front of The Hub. To think that she'd just been part of Amity and now belonged to Dauntless. Life could change in a matter of seconds, it was incredible. "This is so amazing. I can't wait to find out where we'll be staying." Someone said as the bumped past her. The girl turned around to look at Jez. "Sorry. I didn't mean to bump you." She said, and Jez smiled at her. "It's fine. This is really great. I can't wait to see where we are going either." She said to her with a smile and the two of them took off racing to catch up with the group, who raced through the streets, taking turn after turn heading for the outer parts of the city. The parts that she'd never gotten to go to before.

Vic's eyes closed slowly as the rest of the ceremony went on ahead, his thoughts jumbled all together as if his mind was screaming at him if he had picked correctly. Dauntless was everything he knew, and despite being brave... he didn't find the courage to even dare choose another faction. Snapping from his thoughts for a moment, Vic's head lifted as the roar of the Dauntless once again overpowered the crowds as a new member joined the rankings - a girl. Amity of all. 95qw8i4d:52="#000066]"Well isn't that a rare sight, an Amity girl joining Dauntless. Normally it's the boys," his father was quiet to speak to his mother, both chatting quietly through the ceremony about the choices. They knew most of the parents now sitting here in the Hub, from either past visits or even other ceremonies - but now it was their children's turn. He glanced again to his parents, before focusing ahead at the bowls.

With the ceremony coming to an end, the Dauntless all but got anxious to move. To run. To go back home and spend their time drinking and partying now that the ceremony would be another year away. Standing up with his parents, his father pulled him again into a bear hug before his mother squeezed his arm softly - they were going to let him run with the rest of the group. Alone this time, for the first time in a long time. "You know what to do, love. We'll see you back at the compound." with a soft smile and a slight push, Vic was off like a bat out of hell with the rest of the Dauntless. He flew through the crowd while his boots hit the ground hard, though his eyes shifted around everywhere trying to pick out the different colors of the new initiates. If they didn't make this jump, they were factionless. Slowing down just a bit, his shoulders pushed back to keep his balance as the other Dauntless flew around him - he slowed to two new initiates. The girl who had been in amity and another who was also a transfer.

Before he had a chance to talk, his head snapped in the direction of the Dauntless leaders yell booming over the already loud roar of the crowd. He slowed down to a jog for a moment to listen - "Alright everyone, the train will be here in t-minus thirty seconds! It isn't going to stop, just slow down! If you don't make it, consider yourself factionless!" another roar from the Dauntless came over as everyone began scaling a building that lead up to the upper level train station. Stopping for just a moment and shaking out his hands, Vic shot forward and jumped up to the building - dragging himself up the first set of windows before scaling the building up to the tracks where the train was already turning the corner and slowing down slightly to accommodate jumping speed. It was always a rush getting onto the trains this way, though most of the time they barely slowed down like they did on ceremony days. Dauntless couldn't kill off their initiates, or their elders.

Shifting side to side on his feet for a moment, Vic glanced back as the stragglers pulled themselves up onto the tracks and stood with a slight shake. He could almost spot one transfer who already wasn't going to make it, but if he couldn't show weakness. Not with the leaders there and not with his initiate status as of right now. He had a chance of getting knocked out of Dauntless just like they did. Vic's legs pulled him into a jog as the train just started to get closer - he ran along the edge of the tracks before his legs shifted a bit faster as the front of the train passed and some of the older Dauntless climbed on and opened the doors. He could barely hear himself think as the thunking from the train roared over the Dauntless's cries of happiness as well - but he knew his jump was coming up. With a swift jump and a spin to the right, he held onto the handle and slammed his hand onto the button to open the automatic doors before making his way into the last cabin.

Shaking out his arms for a moment, he moved back towards the door and noted that a candor initiate didn't make it. He sat on the tracks in a flood of tears. With a frown, Vic looked down for a short moment before offering a blind hand to someone running by - if they were willing to take it.

ooc ; so i'm thinking the dauntless born initiates and the transfers should train and compete together - as there wouldn't be many this year.

The two girls ran together, to keep up with the rest of the Dauntless. Jez couldn't help but laugh as they ran. The wind whipping her hair out behind her. They reached the tracks and people started to climb up to catch the train. She paused for only a moment before she started the climb. It was just as easy as climbing a tree. A little bit different, but she reached the top of the tracks just as easily as some of the other Dauntless. She stood there for a moment and looked out over the part of the city she could see, the wind blowing around her. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly just as the train whizzed by them. "That was great. How did you learn to climb like that?" The girl as, and Jez smiled at her. "I've been climbing trees and racing through fields my whole life." She said laughing a little bit as she reached up and ran her fingers through her hair getting it out of her face. "Wish I'd had that kind of luck. I almost fell twice." The girl said with a frown. Jez patted her shoulder softly, then started to run again, following the rest of the group.

She let a couple others slid in front of her because it didn't bother her. The running part, it was freeing. The wind blowing all around her. The city and how it looked from up here. It was totally amazing. Finally, she picked up her pace and caught up with the last compartment. She reached up with her hands one hand grabbing onto the bar and another grabbing onto the hand that someone had extended. She jumped up and then swung into the Train slamming into a boy who'd helped her onto the train. "Thank you." She said to him with a smile, a little breathlessly. She turned and peeked out of the train door and down at the people who hadn't made it. She felt sorry for them and wished that they could go and help them, but something told her that something like that would only get her into trouble. She moved back into the train and sat down next to the girl she'd run with. "I'm Jezebel." The girl smiled at her. "I'm Kail. Nice to meet you." They shared a smile and sat there for a little bit, taking a break after all the running that they had just done. She looked up at the boy who'd helped her into the train and gave him another smile for helping her.

"Alright, we are almost there. It's time to get off the train." One of the leaders said to them, and people stood up and the train doors opened. It took a couple of seconds to realize what had to happen, but people started to jump. She sucked in a small breath and glanced around the train. They had to jump? "This is crazy." She said, laughing a little bit. People started to jump, it was crazy. The new initiates were scared she could see it all over their face. She pressed herself against the train wall, then pushed off and ran. When she reached the edge she pushed off with her feet and flew threw the air. It was thrilling, like she was flying. What wasn't thrilling was hitting the roof and rolling. She hit the ground and rolled twice before she landed on her back. She laid there for a moment before she jumped up and brushed herself off, getting things out of her hair. She had a scrap on her knee and one on her arm, but other then that she was fine. "Guys, this is seriously so cool." She said as she hurried over to Kail to help her up and then towards the boy who had helped her onto the train. "I'm Jez." She said to him.

People had started to gather at the other end of the roof, and so they all started that way. She stuck towards the back of the group. Someone stood up on the edge of the roof and smiled down at them. "This is it. If you can make this last part, you'll finally be to the end of the road. You just need to jump and you'll finally be at your new home. Who will go first?" The guy passed back and forth slowly, looking over everyone slowly, till his eyes landed on Jez."How about you Amity? The only one to join on this joyous day. Show us what you're made of." The man said and the crowd parted for her. She kept her eyes on where he was and she walked towards him slowly and climbed up onto the side of the roof and looked down into a hole. She couldn't see anything but blackness. She looked back over to the guy standing next to her, with his arms crossed and he smiled a wicked kind of smile. Jez looked back down to the hole and took a deep breath then jumped. She fell threw the air, a scream wanting to rip out of her but she clamped her mouth shut. After a moment she hit a net and bounced a couple of times. She laid there for a moment before someone grabbed onto the net and she rolled.

Someone caught her and helped her stand up. She looked at the girl for a second before she was shoved off to the side so she could start to help other people who were jumping now. A couple of them were screamers. It had been absolutely terrifying jumping through that hole, but totally thrilling. She wondered if life was like this all the time down here. What was in store for them next? She was sure that this wouldn't be easy. Just because they had decided Dauntless didn't mean that they would get to be Dauntless. She was sure that there was so much more in store for them.

OOC ; Yes!! I like that idea!! Get rid of the weak people and keep the strong people!

Vic could feel the warm hand grip onto his for a moment, his hand tightening around the smaller before his arm gave a small pull before he felt someone smash into him. Glancing down, his eyes stopped on the transfer - the amity girl his father had made a little comment about. He figured an amity born would be able to keep up with their running , as they spent most of their times out in the fields and running around without a care in the world. Vic nodded just a for a moment in response to her smile but didn't manage to say a word as the one of the leaders blurted out that they were about to arrive which meant another jump for them. Not like he was going to let on to the transfers that they just jumped onto a moving train, and now they had to jump off the train onto pebbles. That was the surprise in it all. 'just a few more things before training really starts.' he knew what they had to do as soon as they got off the train. Being Dauntless born had it's perks.

Coming up to the door, his eyes glanced towards the Amity girl who had made it as she spoke. She laughed, of all things before the jump and it was clear she didn't mind how crazy Dauntless seemed to be. He was Dauntless material. Shaking his head slightly, Vic backed up just a bit before getting a running start out of the train and jumped with all the power in his legs before he hit the gravel and pebbles of the roof - doing another somersault before standing and dusting himself off. The whoops and hollers of the other faction members yelled out across the roof they had landed on before the laughter and snickering came through with the two initiates too chicken to jump from the train. "You don't make it into Dauntless if you aren't brave! Cowardice is our enemy!" a faction leader yelled out as he had made his way to the edge of the roof to wait for everyone to gather for the next jump.

As Vic was about to walk, his eyes peered over his shoulder to the Amity girl again. 'Jez... hmm..' his mind thought for a moment before he gave her a slight smirk and nod in return to her introduction. "I'm Vic." they weren't going to do full names, then he wouldn't either. Everyone but his parents called him Vic anyway, so why should he let someone new call him by his full name. He motioned to where the crowd was gathering before making his way over and standing with the rest of the crowd, but he muttered in hopes she would hear him "Don't think, just jump."
with those words, his eyes shifted forward as one of the Dauntless spoke out about the jump, but he immediately picked one of the girls who had transferred.

It took her only a couple of moments to decided if she was going to be factionless or jump - of course she jumped. He knew she wouldn't be giving up this easily. It took a few good minutes for the crowd to dim down before Vic took off with a running jump, his foot planting on the side of the building before he jumped off the edge and turned in mid air so his back faced where the net would be. The air pushed around him, making his hair go wild with movement as darkness curled around him. It was only a short drop before he bounced in the net and immediately commando rolled along the side of the net. "Dauntless born initiate!" a hard slap to his shoulder forced him forward just slightly before the quiet congratulations came through as he shifted his way through the crowd who had gathered to see the jumpers. As soon as that last jumper goes, it would be party time.

A few minutes passed before the leader jumped down and stood up from the net as if nothing had phased him. "I'd like to congratulate all the new initiates for making it this far. But you all still have a long road ahead - so enjoy tonight... as it'll be the last night to have some solace before training begins!" with his words booming over the silence of the room, it took just moments for the room to be filled with the joy of the Dauntless. Born and transfers alike were celebrating tonight but some of it didn't interest Vic. Glancing around slowly, his eyes stopped on the Amity girl once more before quickly making his way over to her. "Jez, right? Congrats on making it this far. Normally Amity doesn't last through the first jump." a small smile pushed to his lips but it soon disappeared as he glanced around the room. "How about I show you and your friend" Vic's eyes moved towards Kail, "the compound, so you know where you're going in the morning. I can guarantee you wont have a guide, as most of them get drunk on ceremony nights."

She was going to be a competitor tomorrow. They both were. You should know your opponents before engaging in combat.

ooc ; Longer than I anticipated, but it's keeping it at a steady pace for now xD

Jez had made it this far. She'd showed some of them up and proven to them that just because she was Amity didn't mean anything. She was just as strong as they were. She wasn't born Dauntless, but she had some of the strengths that they did. She'd been raised in wide open fields. She'd climbed trees, raced with other kids bigger and stronger then her. She'd fallen out of trees before. What they had done today, was a piece of cake compared to some of the things she'd endured in the fields. At least down here, below the earth, it was a little bit cooler then where she was from. The ground helped to keep it cool. She was use to working out in the sun and fields, this would definitely be a change. She glanced back towards the hole in the ceiling, getting one last look at the sky before someone came up to her. Vic. "What can I say, I like a good challenge." She said to him honestly. This was going to be fun, tough, but fun. She honestly couldn't wait to see what else would be in store for them.

"Yes, that would be great. Thanks." She said to him with a nod of her head. Kail shook her head. "Thanks but I need to go find someone." Jez stood there for a second before the blonde girl took off after a couple other fraction initiates. She shrugged her shoulders lightly and turned to look back to Vic. "Lead the way." She said as she followed him. Her eyes took in their surroundings. She'd have to find a way to remember where they were and all the places that he was going to show her. They walked together slowly. A million different questions ran through her mind but she didn't want to bore him or anything. "I think I'll make it. Even though I'm from Amity. You know, that was nothing. I've done way worse then jump down a hole like that." She said laughing a little bit, as she ran her fingers through her hair pulling out some knots and picking out a few pieces of pebbles and dropped them down on the floor. Jez was excited to be here, as they walked through the different areas, she made sure to take notes of where the different places were. The first place he took her was where everyone would be staying. Seemed someone else had decided to take another part of the group on a tour too, show them everything.

"This is where everyone will be staying. Both genders. Find a bed, change your clothes and enjoy the rest of your night. I can tell you, most of you won't be here much longer." He said to them all, nodded his head and left. A couple of people were grumbling and one of the guys made a rude, comment about sharing space and showering with the girls. She huffed and picked a bed in between where Vic and Kail had picked. She grabbed some clothes and changed as quickly as possible. It would be weird and she wasn't really sure how she liked the fact that they would all be sharing a living space like this. Even if this was how they lived. It would still be really weird. She sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled on a new pair of boots. She kept her boots, her brown ones and slid them under her bed. She grabbed her old Amity clothes and stood up following the rest of the group. "Was it like this, growing up here?" Jez asked Vic as she caught up with him. Still a little bit freaked out by the fact that they would all be sharing living areas, bathrooms and showers. Kind of a lot to take in. She was sure that she would get use to it, which was fine. She just couldn't help but be shocked by it a little bit. She'd only ever shared space with her family. These people, she didn't even know. "Hey guys. This is definitely odd, but kind of neat. A huge party." Kail said to them with a smile.

Slowly, everyone moved into a single file line to drop their old clothes, if they were from a different fraction into a fire. She stood there for a minute, then tossed her dress into the fire. Sad to see it go, but that was alright. Black was going to be her new color. When her clothes were nothing, she turned away from the fire and took a deep breath and let it out slowly then followed everyone towards where their dinner was going to be. "I'm guessing tomorrow the real work starts." She said to Vic and Kail. It was obvious that this wasn't it. They were Dauntless, they would have to work hard for that right. They would have to show they weren't cowards, they'd have to prove they were strong enough to protect these fractions, to keep their homes safe. She was ready. Jez was ready for a challenge.

OOC ; Sorry if this is a bit crappy. Wasn't really all sure what to do. If you want to skip to the next day, you can or I can either is fine.

Vic listened to Jez, almost half there and half not. Sure this wasn't like a normal day in Dauntless, but it was exciting all the same. His legs pulled him along the vast halls of the compound while he occasionally stated where things were, what was off limits and where their main rooms would be as initiates. "Those jumps were nothing, those were daily occurrences here at home. How we get around is the train, and the only time it ever stops is if we have visitors." his eyes closed for a moment before looking next to him where Jez picked and played with her hair. "I'm sure you know, but Dauntless are the law enforcers... We're broken down and built back up to be the perfect soldiers to protect the people of the city," those words went through his head on a daily basis, as his father spoke highly of the laws the city held. Dauntless were the only ones able to literally go all over the city without many restrictions - they could go to other factions compounds, they can go to the restricted zones as well.

He could almost hear his father whispering in his ear - telling him that this was how life would be if he picked Dauntless. He would follow in the footsteps of him, his father, and his fathers father... but something about that never fully appealed. It's the same thing over and over, every year, every decade. Why would they want to continue such a boring life? Didn't there have to be excitement? Vic snapped out of his thoughts as he heard a guide speak with the rest of the initiates as they got to their shared room. A slight glare was shot in the direction of the rude comments but he moved towards a bed he picked as his own. All of his things were back at his home, which meant he was still like the rest of the initiates except for the fact he didn't need to change clothes. He had turned his head for a moment when the two girls beside him changed, but as Jez sat down and changed boots - he leaned down and quietly murmured near her ear - "Be careful keeping your old clothes. Some of the leaders will take it as treason if they don't like you," he stood again but this time his eyes shifted towards Kail, "You wont think it's a party tomorrow." a small laugh came from his lips this time. Dauntless did enjoy a good party, but when they weren't partying it was serious.

"And to answer your question... not, it's not like this at all growing up here. We've got homes with our family but in the bigger picture we consider all members of Dauntless our family. Faction before blood after all. his lips pursed just slightly at his last line of his sentence. Something else that was etched into his brain from day one, and will now be etched into theirs as they train. Faction before Blood. Vic lead the small group to the fires as the other Dauntless born took off towards the dining hall - but some averted and ran off towards the exit of the compound. His eyes stopped on Jez and Kail as they both burned what was left of their old factions though he kept an almost blank look to his face. That had to be one of the second hardest things to do today for them - to finally give up everything they've ever known.

As they turned and made their way to the dining hall, his arms loosened from across his chest and fell down to his sides before looking over to Jez, but his voice was quiet so that she could hear. "I hope you know how to fight. That's our first trial." he shifted forward and made his way towards a slightly empty table with some of the Dauntless born initiates but he made sure to keep room for both of the girls. He had been the only one of the Dauntless born so far to even talk to the two - which meant he'd be the one helping them in certain situations. Gathering some food on a plate, Vic didn't take long to eat and get his fill all the while staying quiet between the roar of the crowd and the music that blared through the speakers. Typical eating time with this faction. It was all fun and games until work started.

It took a while for everyone to be fully done with dinner and for everyone to get acquainted before they moved back to their living quarters for the time being. Until they had rooms of their own to call home if they made it. Vic was rested across his bed with his eyes closed, his hands behind his head while he listened to everyone settle on their beds for the night. Some were already sound asleep, others were shifting to get comfortable, where as some were probably crying. They would only see their families on visiting day, and that was it. With a slight shift so he was on his side, Vic was out like a light in a matter of minutes while he ignored the world around him.

"Everyone up! You've got five minutes to get dressed and get to the training room!" a voice boomed through the room as the overhead lights slammed on - flickering with uncertainty at first. Vic's eyes shifted open before sitting up carefully as he looked towards their new trainer who had just managed to get out before everyone rushed out of bed and got dressed. Vic, who had slept in his clothes made his way from the room and to the training room as everyone else sharply followed in his footsteps - some trying to get their boots on as they went. He stopped at the edge of a ring - a light shining down brightly onto the mat while their trainer stood there, arms crossed tightly over his chest and a cold look planted. "My name is Ace and I'll be your trainer for the next few weeks. Our first three weeks, you'll be learning hand to hand combat, knife throwing, and how to safely fire a gun. At the end of week three, you will be competing against each other in a hand to hand fight. While you train... you will be graded accordingly. Those of you who score low and don't make the cut will become Factionless." his eyes went around the group quickly, "Is that clear? If so, then we'll begin." His eyes stopped on Vic, then they shifted around the crowd again before they stopped on a transfer - an Erudite born girl. "Vic, and you know it all transfer, up to the mat. You'll demonstrate that here, it doesn't matter if the enemy is bigger than you, smarter than you, a girl, a guy, an elder, or so on. Your goal is to get the opponent down and out. The fight ends when one of you is out cold." Ace looked between Vic and the transfer, but a smirk came onto his pierced face while backing out of the ring as the two faced each other. As soon as Ace was out of the ring, Vic went straight forward after coming into a fighting stance his father had once taught him. This trainer was going to make him look like a monster.

ooc ; Again longer, but it's to the next day. See the fight how you will, but it's almost one sided. I don't think the trainer should be the nicest person in the world xD

The party had been great. They'd ate, drank, talked, danced, explored some more of the compound. It really wasn't at all what Jez thought it was going to be like. She'd had a lot more fun then she thought she was going to have and when it had been time to head to bed, she'd been a little sad. She wasn't ready for the fun to end, because she knew once it ended it would be a while before they were having more fun like this. The following day would start out rough. She just had that gut kind of feeling. This was when they'd have to start battling for their new position, to be part of the Dauntless. They would have to prove themselves to everyone. It was going to suck. It was going to be rough. She wouldn't be making to many friends and that was alright. Honestly, Jez hadn't come here to really make friends, at least not yet. She'd come here to show that she was strong. This was where she wanted to be. This was going to be her new home and she would prove this to everyone that was here, no matter how hard she had to fight, no matter the new skills she had to take up, no matter what, she was going to prove these people wrong. The ones that kept saying Amity never made it that far. She'd make sure she made it that far. She'd work harder then she possibly ever had in her life is what she would do.

The next morning, she was startled awake. It felt like she'd just crawled into bed. Blinking the sleep from her eyes she got up and yanked on her new boots and dug around in the small bag she'd gotten for a brush which she racked through her hair then pulled it back into a tight french braid and tucked the long tail underneath so it wasn't getting in the way. She was exhausted, but ready for whatever they were going to throw at them. She joined the group after a moment of still sluggish people. They were pulling on clothes and boots as they walked. She had slept her in clothes too. This whole sharing a room with people she didn't know hadn't really made a great impression in her mind, so sleeping in her clothes had been her best plan. She'd change them late. Maybe once she could get away and have some alone time. Maybe even take a shower or something like that too. She snapped out of her thoughts as they came into the training room, stopping at a mat. The instructor got up in front of everyone and started to speak about what would be happening for the next three weeks. How they all would be watched and scored. He also pointed out where the score board was and how often it would be updated. This was no game, and people standing around them started to talk quietly as some girl and Vic were called up to fight. The girl looked deathly ill and honestly Jez felt a tiny bit sorry for her.

The fight was kind of nasty to watch. Small, but quick is what the girl was. She tired to out smart Vic, but he had it up on her. He was Dauntless born and trained already. He'd probably come out on the top, just like the rest of the Dauntless born that had decided to stay with their fraction. The fight ended when the girl hit the mat. She didn't even pass out she backed out of the fight, begging Vic to stand down. She'd gotten a bloody nose and taking a few other hits. She could see a couple of people wanting to step up and help her, but that would be a sign of weakness so no one moved. When the match ended, Ace took everyone for a nice long run through the compound, showing them a few other things here and there. Places that they needed to avoid until they were given permission and places they were allowed to go if they wanted to train on their own time. He showed them the whole training area. The knife throwing, the dummies to beat up on to practice. Even told them that they could fight each other as practice. Would honestly help them out some if they worked with each other. By the time they ended up back in the training arena half the group was slacking and out of breath. She was winded but not nearly as bad as a few of the other people. She'd managed to stay towards the middle of the group. Ace told them to take a small break and she headed to get some water because she really needed a drink.

"We'll kill each other before we even get to the end of training." Kail said to Jez as she came up to get a cup of water. Jez wrinkled her brows together for a moment and looked at her new, kind of friend. "Did you expect this to be easy? They have to make sure we aren't weak. That we'll live up to their expectations. I'm sure that it will only get harder, then they'll weed out the weaklings. It sucks, yes, but I can see why they do it." She said with a shrug of her shoulders as she emptied her cup and got some more. Kail looked at her a little shocked. "Did you really come from Amity?" She asked, then shook her head as she walked away. Jez hadn't been trying to be mean, she'd been trying to be honest with the girl. This was going to be really hard. Ace didn't seem like the kind of guy to take it easy on anyone, even people that were already here from his own fraction. Sure, he might favor them a little bit, but that didn't mean he was going to be nice to them. When she was finished with her water and felt a little bit more refreshed she threw out her empty cup and went to find something to practice with.

Growing up, she'd learned how to fight. She was that girl that started trouble. Amity didn't like war and all of this. They were peaceful people, but Jez had never really been that peaceful. She couldn't just give things up without getting into a fight. She couldn't solve things with a hug or nice words. Oh no. She had to be that girl that threw a punch or something crazy and out of line like that. That was just who she was. This fighting though, this was going to be different. She'd actually be fighting with someone who would fight back, who would strike and not miss. She needed to up her game, so she figured starting with a dummy was the best place. She took in a breath and straightened her body and started with a few punches, aiming at different spots, then threw in a few kicks here and there. She made sure to keep her frame centered and work from her core.

OOC : Sorry this is late. Had a really rough day. :/

The fight didn't last long - a few solid punches, a few trips and a quick elbow to the gut was what forced the girl to back off the mat and beg Ace to make it stop. She begged him to stop. That wasn't the Dauntless way and Vic knew it would only mark against her despite it being the first day of training. In his mind, with full honesty, this girl didn't look as though she would make the cut but that could change at any moment with the right amount of training. "She'll falter at the first knife throwing - her punches are weak,' his thoughts noted her every movement after Ace told her to get back in the ring and finish the fight, to take it like a true fighter. She never found herself coming back into the ring, which had left Vic cleaning off his hand from the light spray of blood that had come from her nose. He hadn't realized he hit her that hard, which in turn made him feel like the monster Ace was pushing him to be.

This man was someone his father was friends with, despite the age difference and he knew his father would be getting annual reports on how his son would be doing. That in itself scared the living daylights out of Vic just because of how judgmental his father could be. It didn't take long for Ace to pull them out of the training room and on a long run through the compound - making sure to bring them over all the areas that would be off limits without a trainer and being sure to show them everything they could train with on their own time when they weren't training with him. He also mentioned there would be sit in's by the leaders - and that in all made Vic uneasy. The years before there were never sit in's, the only time the leaders would really care was when their training was complete and they were finally initiated into Dauntless.

As they had finished their run, Vic panted softly but it didn't last long. They ran normally when they went out with their families so that was nothing. His eyes shifted around at the others that tried catching their breaths while the others who had been running were only winded. He could hear Kail speaking though - and Jez bouncing right back at her with a response that had almost shocked him, it was enough to make him watch her out of the corner of his eyes now. 'well... i wasn't expecting that sort of response...' as Kail walked away, Vic started over to Jez but only just managed to get his shoulder grabbed by another Dauntless born. "Hey Vic! glad to see you didn't choose otherwise. You looked pretty out of it during the choosing ceremony, Hayden, someone he had grown up with, had given a laugh after he spoke. A joker in a sense that he laughed at his own jokes and seemed to take light of everything.

"It wasn't a hard pick, I was just thinking about everything." he chuckled slightly, having picked his words carefully. In fact he had indeed been deciding his own fate. They had told him he was Dauntless but he knew something was wrong when he had come out of the simulation. His tester ushered him out of the room fast and with almost a scared look to his face - something that threw him off as wrong. It was only as he was about to leave the building that the tester had caught up with him and grabbed his arm - only whispering in his ear as he walked by. He could remember the words clear as day, and they had played over and over in his head. 'Choose wisely, because it could mean life or death,' and another word was whispered after, but all he had gotten was the first bit of it. 'What the hell was dive supposed to mean..' his thoughts went through his head again before Hayden touched his arm for a second. "Hey, man, snap out of it. You're scaring me. You've never been this quiet before," concern came out through his voice which snapped Vic out of his mind. "Sorry, was thinking... again. I should stop doing that. People might assume I'm a secret know it all, huh." this time both of them laughed, Vic playing it off as real but in reality he was scared that he had really made the wrong choice. What if he was Erudite. There was always a what if.

"I'm gunna go do some spars if I can convince someone. See you tonight at dinner," he grinned a bit before turning and looking around again for Jez - who had all but disappeared from the water jug. His eyes stopped on the dummies where she was throwing punches but something was off in her steps, he could spot it just from there. Walking over slowly, he stopped a few inches away and watched her throw a few more as well as a kick but with a slight 'tsk tsk' to get her attention he gave a small smirk. "You're curving your wrist too much when you connect, and your step is too far apart. Someone could knock your foot from under you, or you could break your own wrist if you hit someone hard enough." he moved over to another dummy and pulled himself into the stance his father had shown him before throwing a punch, then a kick. "You'll have to watch how your opponents move as well, some will move around and avoid you, others will come straight in for the win,"

This time he circled the dummy as though he was watching an opponent, his eyes shifting up and down before moving forward quickly and delivering a few swift punches before ducking down and throwing a kick. Vic slowly stood and looked towards her for a moment before glancing back as Ace spoke to a few Dauntless born. He knew that the Dauntless born initiates could easily take over that list but he knew he could make them look like terrible people. It was a game to him. A sick game of who he could get ousted to become factionless. In some ways... he was like his father. "Alright Initiates! break time is over, I want everyone picking a spar partner for today. The first three matches will be practice.... and then your first grades will come today as the fourth match will be take all. You need to knock your opponent out. his eyes stopped on the Erudite girl Vic had fought, "If you back down, consider yourself factionless." Ace smirked and moved over towards the ring, the base of all fights.

Vic glanced at Jez for a moment before deciding against taking her as his spar partner. He had shifted over towards another Dauntless born initiate and then glanced back at Jez, his eyes motioning towards another transfer. She'd win this fight, he'd make sure of it.

ooc ; Hmm... after this day, should we skip to another week? Maybe the third week? Things could be going awry - like patrols are kicking up top notch.

Three weeks. It had been three weeks since the choosing ceremony and life was beyond crazy. They had done nothing but train since they'd gotten here. Turns out becoming a Dauntless was a lot harder then people thought it was going to be. They trained hard. Fought, ran, threw knives, shot guns and repeated. They did that until they were exhausted and it was all they lived for. Training for some people went really well, they improved and got better, while a few people fell to the pressure and found themselves fractionless. It was hard to see those people fall out and fail. It was scary. Like a reality check for everyone. Everyone needed to step up and fight harder. They needed to learn more, be stronger, fearless. It was crazy and Jez found herself right in the middle of it all. She kept up, with the dauntless born. Shocked the socks off of people. Here was a girl, an amity born girl that was even showing up some of the best Dauntless born boys and girls. She was up on the list way about the red line. She fell into the top five of the class, up their along with Vic. It pissed people off too. It was like she was born for this kind of life. Surprising even to herself. Honestly, Jez hadn't thought she'd get this far. She trained hard, lived and breath training. She didn't want to find herself fractionless.

A lot of her training she owed to Vic. He'd been there helping her out. Teaching her how to be better at it all. A lot of it was more mental really. At least for her. She had the body for the physical aspects, she grew up working. That had really helped her out honestly. It was hard to believe that more Amity hadn't made it here in this fraction. To really get into being a Dauntless you had to let everything go. You had to think less and just do. Had to let go of your fears and think more realistically. You couldn't think about stepping on toes or drawing blood. You had to just do it. Thinking about it made it worse, made it harder to actually fight someone. When she had to step onto the mat with someone for a fight, she had to shut off her mind. Jez didn't like the thought of hurting someone else, but she had no choice it was them or her and she wasn't about to walk away from a fight even when she had to fight Vic or Kail. She had to let go of any kind of feelings that she had towards any of the friends that she'd made here and just fight them. Of course she'd apologize later if she really had too, but normally she didn't really have too. They were all fighting for the same thing here.

The first two times she'd stepped onto the mat had sucked. She'd gotten her a** handed to her. By some small blonde girl and the second time had been some big, dauntless born kid. She'd learned her lesson after that. The second fight had been the worst. The kid had been huge, she'd been down after the first hit. They'd laughed, she'd gotten so pissed. She waited until she'd practiced some more, healed up from the beating then gotten back on the mat with the guy. Second time around she'd won. Ever since then the huge guy had hated her. She'd handed his a** to him, in front of everyone. He made sure to never let her forget it either. Jez had felt a little bit better after that and had won most of her mat fights. Everyone lost now and then, but she was good at holding her own, thanks to Vic. Honestly, if he wasn't around she probably wouldn't be as good as she was. It really helped to have him there giving her pointers. Jez found herself really enjoying the time that they spent together. Getting to know him. When she had nothing to do, she found herself seeking him out to hangout or to train with. Her feelings were interesting when it came to the guy. She wasn't really sure what it meant, but she was trying to figure them out.

The hardest part about training, were the tests. Where they made you sit in a chair and injected you with this stuff and brought all your fears to light. She'd learned when she'd gone for her aptitude test that she wasn't normal. The lady had rushed her out the back door and told her to keep an eye out and be careful. That was the last of the women that she'd seen. At first, Jez didn't get it. Now she did. In her fears, she could break through things with a record time. She'd learned that she could get out of the dreams easier then others. She'd seen people being dragged out of these rooms terrified of whatever had happened to them. She didn't get it until she was sitting in the chair herself. She'd found a way to break through all her fears. The thing of it was, she couldn't just rush out of them, she had to go slow and find a solution on how to get out and into the next one. It had only taken her one time through the test to realize that she shouldn't be able to get through them that fast. People were really freaked out. The second time she'd been dragged into the room for the test, she'd made sure to find a logical way out of each fear instead of just kind of falling from one to the text without really being bothered by them. This was going to be on the final, the very end of all the testing. She'd have to do this in front of everybody and something deep down told her that this was one of those things she needed to keep to herself. Her brain seemed to work differently then everyone else's. Only one other person seemed to work like her and that was her new friend Vic.

After they had finished all the physical training it was time to let go. They had all decided a part was the best way to do so. A few of them celebrated with getting some tattoo's. She was one of those people. She'd gone a really neat tattoo along her back and her rib cages. It was something fun to do and she thought it was time. Everyone else was all marked up, and she wanted one too. After that Ace had them all follow him outside, where he had everyone get on the train and they went for a ride. On the way he explained to them that they were going to play a game, capture the f**. Said it was something that all initiates did once this part of training was over. Everyone was split up into two teams. Each team was given a flag and each person was given a gun. Of course it wasn't a real gun. The gun shot these little simulator bullets. It felt like getting hit with a real bullet, but only lasted for a couple of minutes. When they finally reached their destination, what was left of the Vegas strip the two teams split up and headed off to hide their flags. She walked with her team, and glanced around a little bit. She wasn't the one hiding the flag, she was going to help get to the other side so they could get the other flag.

"Hey, we should climb up somewhere and see if we can find the other flag." She said to the captain of their team. "Maybe you can see it from up there or something." She said pointing to a broken down boat. It looked still put together. Someone could climb up and look out over one of the poles or something like that. "By all means go ahead and do that. I don't have time for that." Spat the guy who was running their team. He was in deep conversation with some girl about something. Jez shrugged her shoulder and carefully climbed over the fence and dropped down into the empty pond area and started for the boat, climbing up the ladder.

OOC : Her tattoo I hope that this is good and not over the top.

Three weeks had gone by so fast, and every day he knew something was different about him compared to the rest of the people but never once did he let on that something just didn't feel right. In the time he spent training, and helping his new found friends, he watched people become more and more exhausted as time passed by and their training became harder. He grew up in the midst of a man who once did the initiate training - which meant he knew certain things others didn't. Advantages, ways to slip through the cracks, but Ace had something menacing stuck up in his sleeve. Through the weeks - he did manage to gain some pride in the fact that the transfer friend, Jez, had indeed made it through the first rounds of their testing and with flying colors at that - she was two under him and he was so close to being top of the class but that's what happens when you get your a** beat by a Dauntless born who spent his life training for this very moment. He was in line with Ace - a class favorite. Suck up. Kiss a**. And Vic hated it.

Though the time had come when he had to fight Kail, and then he had to fight Jez, which all in all he had dreaded. Their trainer had known they had gotten close with a sort of friendship and because of their status as transfers, this fight was all the more pained. It's the moment that Vic had actually questioned the real reason they do this - the real reason that people are weeded out. There were other jobs, security room jobs and the sort that had nothing to do with having to beat the living s**t out of each other. There was something sick and twisted in the notion of having to fight for your right to stay in the faction you decided hard to choose. He couldn't even remember the fight between him and Jez, part of his mind wanting to shut it out anyway due to the fact they both knew each others moves well from the weeks they had trained together. He knew her steps, her movements, just as she knew his so the fight was whoever got a hit first had to make a damn lucky one to change up the others pattern in the slightest.

Then came the injections. The fear landscape. The one thing his father told him to never fear - even though they literally brought out the worst fears in your head. Each person had a certain amount of fears, some of which could go away but then could easily be replaced by something new. His first injection, went terribly. He had to be helped from the room because of the fact he shook to the point where he couldn't walk. His first was as if he had woken up in dirt - the dirt burning his eyes, nose, throat while air was hard to come by. He was in the ground, who knows how deep but panic struck him hard as he started digging while his air supply began to run short, but as soon as his fingers broke the surface someone had grabbed his hand and yanked him from a small mound of dirt in an all white room. Though as he stood and looked around, there was no one. Just a never ending white room with fluorescent lights flicking above. Minutes felt like hours as he screamed for anyone, and ran down the hall but it was as he stopped just for a second that the lights above him broke, glass hitting the ground and the entire space going dark.

It was like a night with no moon, no stars, no nothing. Even getting used to the darkness, he still couldn't see anything. Though as he felt around, he could hear growling and hissing - cracks of what sounded like glass under feet and the shrieks of animals giving off a threatened sound. He was defenseless, and in the dark. Panic almost crippled him there while he crouched down and held onto his head, though when his eyes closed... things became deathly quiet. The sound of lights outside flickered on with a buzzing sound of electricity and that's when it happened - a light shown down on the pavement somewhat in the distance and there were his parents on the ground - his father strewn over his mother in a heap of what Vic only knew as blood and as his eyes shifted down he saw the glint of metal in his hand. He held a gun. It was after the gun was dropped that Vic lost it - completely and utterly lost his control and brokedown in his fear landscape. He could remember Ace helping him out of the room, but everything else was a complete blur until they needed to do their fear landscapes again for better times. His had been the worst that day. The second time they did landscapes, things changed and fast. He found ways to get through his landscapes either by what Ace had called 'the dauntless way' or something that was totally new to him - Vic could twist the landscape and completely change outcomes. It was on the third, the final landscape bit that he figured out the best way to solve his fears the Dauntless way - he aced it.

When the physical side of training ended, everyone split up to do different things. Like get tattoos, drink, or some just prepared further for the next section of their initiation. He knew one thing at the end of initiation and it was to go through the fear landscape in front of all of the leaders, their instructor and the leaders of the factions. Vic had learned the word that he didn't understand before, what 'dive' had really meant to him. 'Divergent... he thought as he followed Ace, his arms crossed and a look on his face that just showed he was deep in thought. He didn't know what to make of the word but he was told to never speak of it. He was told to keep it to himself, and to never ask about it. It could be the cause of his death. Hayden snapped him out of his thoughts by shoving a gun into his arms, and punching his arm. "Snap out of it, let's whoop this teams a**." he said with a grin as he made his way onto a train with the rest of the initiates. It took just a few minutes to reach downtown, on what he was told used to be the 'Vegas strip' . Before the war, this was a hub of gambling but that was all he had time to read unless he wanted someone to catch him.

After the teams separated, he stood to the side of the group and half listened to the self proclaimed leader of the group - a large dauntless born boy who he didn't even remember the name of. All Vic knew was that he was the biggest a*****e in the initiates. It was when Jez spoke up that he turned his attention towards her, then to where she had pointed but the leader wanted nothing to do with that. He was going to charge the team head on. He watched Jez disappear beyond a fence before looking towards the leader, his voice coming out louder than he had aimed for, "Maybe you need to consider your not good with tactics. Have fun getting shot," he had almost spat right back at the leader of their team before moving to the fence and jumping it with ease. With a slight jog he had managed to catch up with Jez, but his eyes looked at the ladder leading up the boat. This stuff was old. Covered in rust and a caked layer of sand. " They're going to charge ahead in a few minutes," Vic tested the ladder, some of the sand coming off in chunks and the ladder giving a slight creak of the new pressure from him pulling. "I'm not standing around waiting to get shot. Let's see if we can't get that flag before them." he had let her climb first, prepared to catch her if the ladder had given but she made it up fine. The sand breaking off in small chunks and coming off gave him some more leverage to get up there faster.

Getting to the deck, his eyes peered around before looking straight up towards the highest point of the ship , which was almost a straight climb up. "We should be able to climb to the top of this thing. I don't think I've seen the city from that high up before." he knew it would be one hell of a climb, in the end it would be worth it. He needed to tell someone. He had to tell someone he could trust about the word he had learned just days ago. 'Divergent'
                                                    .

ooc ; Nothing is over the top to me c: I love reading posts xD
I went ahead and described a bit of his fear landscapes - he'll have more at the final fear landscape which would be later on down the road.
