Welcome to Gaia! ::

Jumaris sniffled, looking relatively pathetic, like a forlorn child. "So what are we gonna do, Jarred? We're in way over our heads... We can't control our powers,we don't have any money, no food, no place to stay...can't even stay with someone without them being in danger..." She sighed heavily, frowning at the thought of her life disappearing before the chance to do something great. Just one chance. One chance to make it big, to walk on the runway or be a singer or something. Anything to get people to want more than just a body.
"We teach ourselves control of our powers, we run until we become what we should be, then we hunt the bastards who did this to us down, take revenge on the sick ******** then find some cozy spot to hunker down for a while...." Jarred said calmly, wrapping Jumaris in his embrace. Sure, they may have just had sex for the first time, not to mention his first time on drugs, but he felt very protective over her, and had every idea of protecting her from the other bad things she can't handle herself.
Jumaris's bottom lip quivered. She hated this whole frail feeling she got whenever a stupid realization came to her. "I don't see what good this'll do us..." she said, quietly, pulling her arms close to her body amidst the momentary hug.
Jarred winked at her with a small smile. "It'll work. Trust me, alright? Now lets go pick out some frilly underwear." He said simply, turning around and pulling her onto his back with his uber strength. "Get ready for the thrill...." He said dramatically, his hair turning back to multicolored and his eyes turning red as he took off in a blue, Jumi on his back comfortably as he raced down the streets of the city, a blur of red and white as, suddenly, he leaped, easily going higher than the tallest building in the city, giving a loud whoop as they flew through the air.
Jumaris buried her face in his shoulder. "I really hate it when you do that..." she mumbled, trying not to look at her surroundings. Why did this have to be the only mode of transportation? Couldn't they take a cab? It would sure help with the whole queasy feeling or maybe the horrible fear of heights and fast moving objects...
"WHere are you going?"
"The mall, where else??" Jarred called back just as they landed quite easily in a secluded alley just a block or so from the largest mall in town. He let her off his back as he pulled out his wallet. "Oh good, still got my card in there..." He said with a happy sigh, not looking forward to returning home. "Now, you have two options: Another back ride to get their faster, or we walk." He said, privately hoping for the run himself.
Jumaris tried to gain her bearings once again. She stepped onto solid ground, trying to push on weak smile.
"How ever much I love that head rush just before I puke, I think I'll have to go with the walk..." she said, opening her eyes from their previous squeezed shut position.
Despite the queasiness overpassing, she was held in small shock at the fact that he even offered to buy her anything without a price. Unless of course this was all because of guilt from the previous night.
Jarred chuckled as he offered her his arm. "Fine with me." He said simply, winking conspiratorially. He had felt that chivalrous feeling again for this beautiful girl, knowing it would go a bit deeper than that when he remembered their intimate actions the last couple of hours, and felt he just needed to be protective of her now. "Gives us more time to chat inanely." He added with a chuckle.
Chat. She didn't like the sound of that. Anything he wanted to talk about was bound to have some form of unwanted thought, some memory she had locked away. She put her arm through his, nervously wondering where this journey would lead. She thought about the other night, how he so willingly fell to the spider's web.

"Well, what do you want to chat about?" she asked with her camera worthy smile.
"Nothing bad, I promise. Just wanted to know what you would be doing if you weren't a superhero at the moment...." Jarred asked innocently as they strolled quite languidly down the street towards the mall complex. [********, now we actually HAVE to talk now.... Damn.... He thought sadly, hoping he didn't mess things up too much now.
Jumaris shrugged her shoulders, putting her hands in her pants' pocket. "I don't know. Probably working and whatnot..." she said, absently. In all honesty, there wasn't much to her life. She woke up in the arms of one man and fell asleep in the bed of another. She stripped, danced, partied, and when the chance came, loaded up with drugs and alcohol. The only difference with now and her childhood was that she wasn't making money off of the spare nighttime flings, well...not completely. The money she made wasn't exactly taken honestly. Hell, if it weren't for the fact that he were buying her stuff, Jumaris would have taken Jarred's cards and cash...
"Jarred...I have to tell you something..." she began, voice breaking, on the verge of tears.
Jarred stopped, looking at her from the side of his eyes, and said: "What is it??" His voice was gentle, a caring sort of tone to his voice though he feared what may come next. We aren't THIS close to be giving out confessions here, Jumi.... He thought, hiding his nervousness very well.
Jumaris swallowed, hard. Maybe she jumped the gun on that one...just a little...? She fiddled with her fingers for a moment before quickening the walking pace.
"It's nothing..." she said, shaking her head, wiping a thread of red hair from her gray eyes.
In all honesty, his tone caught her off balance. Then again, he had caught her off balance. Most rich guys just figured they could buy you. Guess not Jarred.
Jarred looked at Jumaris with curiosity. "O-okay." He said, looking back the way they were walking. He was confused on the sudden breaking off, but didn't push it. When she wanted to talk, she'd talk to him.
Jumaris bit her lip, still holding that question above her head like mistletoe. Boy, she could really go for some of that. She stopped him by the shoulder, hesitating for a moment before splashing her words out.
"It's just that..." she paused, unsure if she should really ask. "When you said that last night was one of the greatest nights you ever had, did you mean physically?" Really, she just said a load of crap. She couldn't really recall what he said, but considering his reaction when walking away, she knew it wasn't a crappy experience. In all reality, she didn't care too much. Simply that she had to know where they stood if they'd be taking the long way around this 'super hero' thing.
