Welcome to Gaia! ::

"How the ******** should I know?!?!?!" Jarred exclaimed, the alleyway rocking with his outburst. He didn't notice, he was busy being annoyed and agitated with this silly strumpet. "Do whatever the hell you want, I'm going home and forgetting ALL about this. Go bring your slutty a** to some other douche-bag who cares, 'cause you'll find nothing from me. All of this wouldn't have happened had you NOT carried that GOD DAMN conversation...." He said bitterly, waving her away and sticking his hands in his pockets, making his cumbersome way over the unconscious and most likely dead bodies of his former enemies.
Jumaris rolled her eyes. No wonder she hated men. How ironic that she pleased the very thing she hated. Clenching her fists, she ran after him, trying hard not to burst. Grabbing his shoulder, she tried to swing him around. Her lack of arm strength made her touch feel more like that of a child's than an adult.
"What is your problem?" she asked with an immature attitude.
Jarred growled at her touch, and was about to show her just how angry he was when, out of the blue, three black Sudan's pulled up to the curb at the end of the alleyway, men in black suits with grayish skin and dark sunglasses stepping from the cars. "Jarred Patterson and Jumaris Jones, you must come with us or else." They all said together in a very robotic way, all totally synchronized. Unconsciously, Jarred stepped in front of Jumaris - sure, she may be a b***h but Jarred was chivalrous regardless - and said defiantly: "To hell we will...." He growled, his eyes turning a burning red and black swirling tattoos covered his entire body, showing up a great deal on his arms, his neck, and legs. His finger nails became totally black, his canine teeth growing slightly longer and pointier, his hair still retaining the numerous black streaks throughout it all. All of a sudden, the gray men charged in thundering strides, unfortunately met by Jarred suddenly turned juggernaut, ramming into them like a football player on the field.
Jumaris ground her teeth, obviously not happy with the whole thing. She wasn't about to follow the orders of some random guy she didn't know and didn't owe. With sass, she crossed her arms, hip out to the side with a small snide on her face.
"Or else? What kind of a pick-up line is that? You honestly think anyone is going to listen to you with THAT?" You've got to be kidding me... Once again, she rolled her eyes, growing more agitated by the minute. She acted nonchalant until she noticed the stampede. With a small shriek, she tripped backwards, eyes wide.
The gray men fell backward at the force of Jarred's hit, though remained seemingly unharmed. The continued their attack. With a force like a thousand streaming bullets, one of them grabbed Jumaris, locking her neck between his arm. She squirmed momentarily, feeling the surge of electricity pass through her veins as a rushing river. The stranger jolted backward, still holding her in his iron grip. Grunting, lighting began to swerve around her, sweeping all things attracted to electricity into the whirring tornado.
Jarred's hand literally tore the mans arms away from Jumaris - almost off due to the ripping noise - and tossed the robotic b*****d into their nondescript black Sudan, colliding with his gray buddies with a crash. Jarred stood slightly to one side of Jumaris - she was, after all, shooting lightning like there was no tomorrow out of her hands - making the robotic junkies go into a crazy electric tornado of doom.
Jumaris screamed at the ripping noise. Her frail body dropped to the ground, hands clasped tightly around her head with her eyes squinted shut, as if the whole world were going to fall down around her. She exhaled heavily, the lighting slowly dying down. The feeling of power drifted away, leaving her in a momentary state of confusion. She looked up with gray eyes, strands of red-streaked hair falling over her shoulders.
Images flashed across her mind. The same men carried the deadly duo into some sort of white cell. It resembled an asylum. The sound of a clicking clock echoed in the distant. Then nothing. Her mind was back in the present. She swallowed hard, shaking hands lowering to the pavement. Whoever it was that attacked Jarred and her were in bad shape. They jolted like that of a human body slowly loosing life, smelling like a fried hard drive.
"We should get out of here..." Jumaris whispered, slowly standing to her feet as crowds of people began to draw closer, camera flashes nearly blinding her already bad eyesight.
Jarred growled, but grabbed Jumaris' arm. "Brace yourself." Was all he said as he - quite uncertainly - embraced her to him. In a blur, they were gone. In a matter of moments, they were outside the now very busy city on top of a forested hill. Jarred let her go, out of breath and steaming quite unnaturally. "God, that hurt...." He wheezed, looking at the veins popping out on his hands and arms. "What the ******** happened to us....?" He asked, more to himself than anything.
Before she could get her thoughts together, she was in another place. Her stomach did a flip as they stopped on the God-forsaken land somewhere outside of town. Her eyes were wide with a feeling of uncertainty. Could this day get any worse?! With uncertain footing, she grabbed a tree, gulping. She didn't want to think about what just happened, let alone what was doomed to happen.
"What the hell...My God we are going to die...We are going to die slowly and painfully...They're going to catch us and torture us...Needles...I hate needles..." she mumbled to herself, looking down at the spinning ground.
"What's wrong with your body? You're steaming...and...and..." she squeaked in momentary panic. Even still, she managed to keep her pink and red hair in pristine condition. Hell if it didn't. She didn't buy those products so it could fall flat.
Jarred straightened up once the pain vanished. "Oh, stop whining. They won't kill us, I won't let that happen. Sure, I might not like you, but you're the only person even remotely like me, and I'd rather not let those bastards end whatever sanity I might still get out of this." He didn't mention his own phobia of needles, but it made him shiver at the prospect regardless.
Jumaris furrowed her eyebrows, glaring at him from the corner of her cloudy eyes. "Oh yea, that makes me feel soo much better. My hero..." she said sarcastically, crossing her arms in the usual childish fashion. She licked her lips in a nervous fashion, pacing the pine-covered ground. Her stilettos barely sunk into the dirt, light on her feet with every step. "What are we gonna do? I'm late for work...there's no way I'll be able to get back in their with this as my excuse...I NEED that money, ok? I can't just ditch..." Her 'diva' voice was serious, obviously unhappy with the situation. Not only was she in the middle of no where, but she was in the middle of nowhere with some guy she didn't even like. Jackass.
"Well..... I would offer to use some of my own rather large sum in my bank, but then you'd say you don't accept charity from d**k-heads, then I'd laugh as you try to do everything without the money. Sure, the bastards might tap my account, but the man who had previously owned my estate thought of that." Jarred said dryly, crossing his arms and looking at the now very colorful town below them.
Jumaris looked up at him, an expression of disbelief. The beginning of a smile formed at the corner of her lips. He'd do that? Even before sex or even a kiss? That was something new in and of itself. She didn't even like the guy, and Lord knew he didn't like her...
"Y-you'd...do that?" she asked, her voice sounding like child's. "But what about your life? You can't just walk away from all of it..." she tried to argue.
"It wasn't much of a life anyway. My sister is well off, she can have Jiff drive her to school for a while. It's better to go away knowing she's safe then stay around and know she's in danger. Besides, we both know we need new clothes, and I have more than sufficient funds if we're to stick together and get back at those sadistic bastards." Jarred said, not looking at Jumaris as he spoke, since he didn't trust himself to look at her at the moment. He might do something he'd regret.
Jumaris rubbed her arm as if cold. Feeling rather guilty for the whole circumstance, she sighed. "Are you gonna say goodbye?" she asked softly, looking at the forest floor. A light breeze blew by, sending her scent of blueberries through the quivering trees. She was quiet for a moment, before shaking her head. "I've got...a couple bucks at my friends..we could stop by...they'll be wondering where I'm at anyway..." Truthfully, she doubted anyone would miss her. They'd have a pause of thought, and then nothing. Everyone had their own lives to run. Why worry about the small-town whore?
Jarred nodded. "I'll either hafta leave a note or wake her up, which I am not exactly enthused to do so." He said simply, a bit resigned. "Where do you want to meet up at later?" He asked simply, looking down to the ground as he spoke, crossing his arms and thinking what precisely he needs to say. "Plus, we'd need to grab a change of clothes just for the night. Well, I do anyway. I don't wanna run around with just PJ's on." He chuckled softly.
